Aikido is the nurf bat of all the martial arts...not to belittle it but you spend all the time rolling and slapping the floor and smacking it as you land as you let your partner in training throw you to the floor. i dare you to do that as hard as you can on the cement, gravel asphalt etc..... and try not breaking your wrist elbow or shoulder. now try that as someone is punching you in the face. try to wrist lock someone as they are kicking you in the groin and or knee with a heavy shoe on.. I think not! being cooperative in training is one thing but not challenging the student to really push themselves in a full power completely dynamic situation as a fight on the street will not work. also the wholesome effects that this training gives you mentally is the complete opposite of a reality based fighting system is about. it might work on some people but against a street thug or any average criminal in my opinion aikido will probably get you killed. I'm sure the instructors at this school are OK but please use your common sense on what reality and fiction are........
