GREAT SERVICE!!
I LIKED THE CAR I RENTED VERY MUCH. IT WAS FRESHLY CLEANED

Love National. Once you sign up for their program the process is so quick. You walk out to the emerald island and pick out any car you want, then drive to the exit, hand them your driver license and credit card and on your way. No lines to stand in and you get to see the options of cars instead of having a clerk select for you.

I have rented from other firms that require a receipt of my gas purchase, never happens when I rent from National.

I stood in line for about 15-20 minutes and when I finally reached the person she asked if I was an emerald club member and I said yes. I was then advised I didn't need to stand in line I could go direct to the lot. When lines were forming I feel like she should have advised emerald club members could proceed to lot. This would have saved me and others time. Once I did get to the right place things went quickly.

There was some anti-theft device that was not allowing the car to start.



What happened next was not good. I was 60 miles form the airport. I called for help. I was connected with a call center in India. The customer service agent was friendly, but clueless. I asked him where I could get another car, he said he did not know since he was in India! I asked if there was anything closer than Oakland to get another car, he said he was not aware of any other locations. , I finally got the car started and was heading back to Oakland. The US based rep told me I could take it to an Enterprise location, but that there would be some delays in switching contracts, and they may not have a similar car.



I decided to drive to Oakland. Total wasted time since I had to backtrack was 3 hours.



How a company reacts to problem solve means a lot. National gets a 0 out of 10 from me. I am an Executive member, but time to try something new.

Outstanding service! I use Emerald Isle and love it. The Oakland office helped me with a rental car break-in at the Walmart on Hegenberger road just down the road from the airport. I had the car less than 20 minutes and was a victim of a smash-and-grab robbery (apparently this is very common on Hegenberger road so leave the area before you do any shopping). They helped me exchange the vehicle very quickly and I was back on the road in no time.
