Due to the high level of crime in the city of Oakland, the management locks its doors during business hours.(A violation of the fire code) The owners selectively profile each customer, basically discriminating against those who fit a particular profile.I was not allowed into the store and had the door locked in my face as others were allowed in. After waiting nearly five minutes the owner proceeded to let other patrons out. When I asked why I was not allowed in with the first group and mentioned that locking doors during business hours was a clear violation of the fire code, I was told to leave the store because he had the right to refuse service to anyone. Racial slurs were then uttered at me. This is not the way to keep your business safe, and is a trend that I am noticing as a lifetime Oakland resident,property owner and tax payer.
