I have been a loyal customer of Ultimate Grounds since they opened their first shop on Park Blvd in the Glenview area of Oakland. Locals support it fiecely, not only for their fair traded coffee blend,the yummy pastries, and unique paninis, but as defense to keep the coffee chains out of the neighborhood. Politics side, the owners and servers are really nice and aim to please their customers.

Fun place to get coffee and mix up your routieen while breaking free of Starbucks. I only have been a couple times but it seems like the type of place that has lots of "regulars"- I heard employees interacting with customers on a first name basis. People bring their dogs, kids, friends, so it is a welcoming neighborhood hangout spot.
