I have no idea how this company can continue their business with the poor communication and services.

My company used to deal with them for a few months and eventually gave up, everything almost busted.

Just surprisingly found out that it still exits even after so long.

We had business with this company twice. Both times the communication was with Annie. The first time we agreed on the date and time they were to pick it up. We specified a two hour window (from 9 to 11 AM) for delivery with understanding that the port could be congested. When the container was not delivered by 11 AM we called the company and they said that the trucker is stuck at the terminal. We waited until 2 PM until we started calling the port ourselves. We checked the port cameras and those showed that there was no traffic or any congestion at all. We called the Chief Wharfinger at the port who gave us contacts at the terminals. We followed up and found out that the port was not busy at all and more than that, we found that nobody even showed up to pick up our container. Apparently the drivers punch in and the port keeps track of what is going on with our shipments and if anyone is waiting for the shipments at all.

When I informed our forwarders about the lies that Annie told us and provided them with the emails from the port officials, Annie told our forwarders that she is also “upset” and she now “pulls out” the driver from the terminal. According to the port records there was not even a driver waiting for our container. We ended up contacting a different trucking company and our container was subsequently delivered only the next day.

This time I specifically asked our forwarders not to schedule the pickup with the same trucking company that we had a negative experience in the past. Unfortunately they contracted them again. Today Annie called us at 8:30 and said that the driver went to pick up our container. We waited for the container from 9 AM to 11 AM and at about noon I contacted the port officials to inquire the whereabouts of our container. They said that the driver entered the gate at 10:20 (not 8:30 as Annie told us) and that the terminal is not congested. It was unclear where the driver was at that time but I wrote an email to Annie saying that she called us at 8:30 and said that the driver is picking it up and that the driver showed up only at 10:20. I asked her how they planned to deliver by 11AM under circumstances. I said that we feel that our business is not appreciated and that the trucking company lets us down again. In response Annie said that she feels that WE do not appreciate HER business and that she now pulled the driver out and that our container will not be delivered by their trucking company.

To summarize: United Bridge gathers any delivery they can get their hands on by offering lower rates (this is why our forwarders work with them, I guess). Then they cannot properly manage those deliveries and not even once they were on time. The worst is that they are lying about the status trying to have your business for as long as possible but if you call their bluff they will leave you hanging in there.

Not being on schedule. Misleading the customers. Lying to the customers. Bad business practice. Disrespect to paying customers.
