Horrible horrible horrible experience. My parents have owned a home on Deep Creek Lake for 30 years. This past weekend we needed a place to board our Thai Ridgeback as our usual boarding facility at home was booked. We called around to several locations, settling on Countryside because they offered to let us pick our dog up on Sunday afternoon using a key they provided. When we dropped our dog off on Thursday my husband was greeted by a very nice lady. Our dog was on a leash, and we dropped him off with a bag of food for him (he has skin problems and is sensitive to certain foods which cause flare ups) as well as some medication he has to take daily - we felt okay when my husband walked away. I called on Friday to check on my dog and a very nice gentleman answered the phone. He let my know our dog was nervous (as he usually is) and that he escaped their kennel but got him back. I was a little uneasy but tried to laugh it off. Sunday I took the key and headed over to the kennel to pick him up. He was in a small cement structure - I am guessing his kennel space was about 4 feet wide by 8 foot long. The gate to the building was completely open, no lock whatsoever. My dog was in his kennel, which had a lock through the latch but wasn't closed/locked at all. He had a large scabby scratch on his face, his bag of items was nowhere to be found, he had no blanket or towel to sleep on, and the food in his bowl was not his by any stretch of the imagination. I called the number to the office and a man I had not spoken to before answered the phone. He could have cared less about my dogs things not being there despite the fact his leash was missing, along with his medication and toys. He gave my husband a hard time about coming out to help us like it was a serious inconvenience. When my husband arrived on Monday to get some answers along with our stuff, he made sure to record the experience because of the phone call the day before. In the bag was our dog's food - which was clearly never given to him. The man refused to answer any questions or explain what the problem was. Instead, he decided to call the cops. If I could give zero stars, I would... But I will give the one star to the kind people we dealt with the days prior and just hope my dog wasn't abused while he was there. Unbelievable! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MopYc6ZL-a0&list=UU9RkCjFzArBgqOejC5yBKIg

My cat was attacked by a wild animal of some sort and I needed to have her looked at asap. Being new to the area and not knowing any vets, I went to the closest one. Big mistake. The vet was not friendly in any way. I wasn't greeted in a friendly manor and the vet/owner just seemed unhappy about doing his job. He and his assistant handled my injured cat roughly. He knew where my cat was injured but had his assistant hold my cat down with force causing my cat more pain on her injury. I understand they have a job to do but they could have handled my cat more easily and friendly. Every other vet that I've seen treated all my animals with loving care. I will not be going back to Countryside.

I no longer go here. Several years ago we thought our puppy had a broken leg. While waiting to get her xray she was left unattended and we (my husband and I and staff) heard her fall off the table. Luckily she did not have a broken leg or hurt further from that fall. We take all our animals to Pineview.

I just moved & was greeted by ...

I just moved & was greeted by a Mom Cat & 3 Feral Kittens. I started calling vets w/no luck until I found Countryside Vet. They got Mom Cat right in for an exam & spay before she could reproduce again. They gave us advice regarding the Ferals & have been very accomodating when it come to appointments for the Feral Kittens - as they are not so easy to catch. The staff was so warm & the Doc very Laid-back, I liked them all immediately. I will also be using them for the cats I brought with me. Good People!!
