Twice in two tries the last several months I have attempted to see a doctor or make an appointment only to be told that "the computers are down - we can't do anything. Call us on Monday." My impression is that things are going very badly since High Mountain Health in Oakland became Vanguard. When I do manage to get an appointment the quality of the medical care is acceptable.

I went and had lab work done. Their office called me and said they had the results. I asked how they were and the girl over the phone told me "It was to much to go over the phone and the Dr. had to discuss them with me." I couldn't get an appt. until almost a week later (which I spent worrying) I arrived early for my appt. but noticed they took the person who had a later appt. before me. We both had the same Dr. When I saw the Dr., he looked at my labs like he had never seen them before. And the worst part about it was there was nothing unusual about my blood work. In fact..it was very good !! The Dr. seemed to be at a loss as to what to really do for the visit, he listened to my heart, reviewed my meds...which the medical assistant had already done. I walked out annoyed and dismayed. If their new policy is to have patients come in to review the labs, they should have just told me that instead of making me think something was very wrong. And why make an appt.? They don't honor them.
