In 2006,we decided to have new fascia,soffit & rain gutters installed, altho roof wasn't leaking,it was showing signs of curling & decided to replace it
also. We hired RJ MILLER.Contract stated: replace any rotted/damaged wood, plus correct a buckle in tongue & groove boards on roof & install 50yr warranty shingles.
Job was completed in timely manner &site cleaned up, but failed during installation to have someone on site who spoke English to address questions.There was no one there to stop crew when we noticed they weren't correcting buckle in roof.
A few weeks after completion,a whole section of fascia & rain gutters,across back of house, blew off & soffit was hanging down in few areas.
It took about 6 months before RJ returned to reinstall rain gutters, fascia & soffit, that's when we uncovered rotten rafter tails weren't replaced as per contract. By then we noticed number of leaks & showed them to Rob in upstairs bedrm (area where buckle in roof wasn't repaired),laundry rm & living rm.Thereupon, he fixed some nail pops& some shingles that didn't seal properly, also witnessed him put some screws into siding above bay window,stating his crew had failed to seal flashing. Since there was damage to interior, we asked about getting it repaired & he said his insurance company contact us. His failed to correct leaks & we contacted him numerous times to correct problems & for his insurance adjuster to repair interior damage to the house.
Roughly 2 yrs later,RJ replaced front part of roof (still failing to correct problems)& refusing to repair roof above bay window, claiming damage was done by another contractor who removed some windows on 2nd floor,altho I saw Rob put screws in.
Contacted RJ a couple of times to find out why his insurance adjuster hadn't contacted us & to complain about still having leaks,& RJ said he wasn't doing anymore & finally didn't return our calls. We never did hear from his insurance company& now in 2018 have to replace whole roof again.
