I focus on educating patients and using the latest evidence based medicine.” Deenesh T. Sahajpal, M.D. is a board certified Orthopedic Surgeon. He specializes in shoulder, upper limb, hip, knee and sports medicine surgery. He is one of the few orthopedic surgeons in the country to have completed more than two years of sub-specialized fellowship training. He is also one of the only surgeons in this region to be Board Certified in Sports Medicine. Dr. Sahajpal completed a fellowship in shoulder and elbow surgery at New York University/Hospital for Joint Diseases, with additional elbow surgery training at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. He also completed a sports medicine fellowship from the internationally recognized Steadman-Hawkins Clinics, which included extensive training in hip arthroscopy and hip labral repair. As an assistant professor of hand, upper limb and joint reconstruction at the University of Florida in Gainesville. Dr. Sahajpal published numerous book chapters and research articles. Some career highlights for Dr. Sahajpal include experience as an associate team physician with the New York Mets and Colorado Rockies professional baseball teams. He also has experience working as a physician with the ATP and WTA professional tennis tours at the Pacific Life Open. He has worked as a team physician for professional hockey as well as college and high school sports. Ocala is fortunate to have Dr. Sahajpal who enjoys providing sports medicine services to many local high schools, youth programs and the Ocala Premier Development League Soccer organization. His relationship with the area athletic trainers provided the foundation of a top-class sports medicine program in Ocala, Lady Lake and the surrounding communities. He has provided team coverage to Belleview, North Marion, Lake Weir, West Port and Trinity Catholic High schools.
