Provided by YP.comAwesome!! Even though they are still working on thing, I wouldnt let that stop me. Party of 4 and thought it was great! Everything was fresh (salads) and the meat was great! From pulled pork, baby backs, chicken, we loved it all! The owner even came out to ask if everything was good and to thank us. We WILL be back for more!

Provided by YP.comIn a word... AWESOME!!
Ordered a large takeout order from Hardwood Smokehouse to feed our staff lunch. Got a good taste of everything. Chicken, brisket, pulled pork, beans, and corn. Everything was great. Staff was friendly and helpful. They are still working on the inside of the place but it was neat and clean. Can't wait to go back and sit down for a meal.

Provided by YPmobileWent to the Hardwood Smokehouse Saturday night. Wow!!!! The best brisket, BBQ Beans, and slaw I've ever had! Finally a great BBQ restaurant in Ocala. The food quality is on par for a locally owned store opened for just two weeks. I can't wait to go back, friends brag on their Baby Backs, I'll have to partake in some. Friendly staff, up beat and helpful. I strongly suggest everyone tries this place for them selfs. Support our local family run businesses.

Provided by YP.comIt was last Friday during the lunch rush, only 8 guests in site...This place has been "open" for a week and never should have opened. It wasn't ready. Robert Irvine ( Restaurant Impossible) would have found a challenge here right away.
There isn't even a sign on the outside of the building yet. When you walk in there is no theme. There is actually NO DECOR, no signage,no welcome feel at all. your typicall cookie-cutter corrugated metal panels and " faux painted wood clapboard siding to give that "rustic" look. Clear coated industrial concrete floor after carpet from previous restaurant was removed...no paint, no stain. The booths are left overs, the chairs are stacking metal cushioned chairs. The tables are recycled and worn. The new owners didn't even touch the bathrooms from the previous restaurant...you will find better bathrooms at the Race Trac up the street...old fixtures. Old screw holes left over from the multiple towel, soap and toilet paper dispensers changed out over the many years before. Left over "fish restaurant green" wall panels and a lack of customer care for over-all perception of the facilties. Want to eat here?...When you open the door, you will find borrowed "Coffee News" stands holding poorly folded, poorly photocopied menus that are very difficult to read and not laid out as a good menu should be.Try to find a sandwich...it's there but hard to navigate...descriptions are incomplete and not written to entice or inform. Since there is no signage, if there is no one in line, you could be greeted by a cashier standing at the opposite wall behind her cash register. This is where a menu wall should be and a "Order Here" sign should be. We found ourselves waiting to be seated and then we figured you had to order and then have order delivered.
After we ordered, we sat at the old tables in the barren dining room. I tasted the 2, yes only 2 BBQ sauces offered in squeeze bottles with cheap labels that were hard to read and already coming off. Tasteless bland and sugary sweet, the "spicy" one was heavy on the celery salt and the mild had no character.
When the order finally arrived, it was luke warm as if it was either sitting to long or the meat wasn't hot. Buns are sweet and the pulled pork and brisket was dry and low on good "'Q" flavor. With orders delivered wrong and food not hot, the chaos to "make it right" solidified the fact that there was a lot of work to be done to make this a decent place to visit.
This place should have been busier for being a new BBQ restaurant, the ONLY one west of I-75 on SR 200 for so long. I have to think that others experience was not very good or if it was REALLY good, this would have been a place to rush to. Unfortunately, it is a place to avoid
