Provided by YP.comBeing in the social media marketing and merchandising industry, I read the review by skippy29014 and was concerned by what was written. In our line of work we often see incidents of "trolling" in which a business or person is said to have negative behaviors or services. We also often see incidents of "sainting" in which glowing and/or 5-star ratings are the only reviews seen on a listing.
I attempted yesterday to reserve a room from the Ocala Inn for the week, keeping in mind the nature of the aforementioned previous review. I could not get a person at the front desk to answer my phone call -- twice, with each call being at least 5 re-directs using "0".
I also attempted today, again, to reserve a room for a week. While I did manage to get a person at the front desk, the gentleman informed me that the price for the week was $187.00 (not the $167.00 listed on the marquee sign on Pine Ave.) -- and that there was a $50.00 deposit on the room, regardless of paying cash, credit or debit.
I also happen to be from Miami, and remember how the city was when I was living there during the 1980s. A hotel, motel or inn, especially in 2014, does not require a deposit for a reservation (at least not any that I have stayed in for a day, such as the Holiday Motel, or for a week, such as the Shangri La Motel or the Comfort Motel), unless there is business going on there which would confirm skippy29014's review.
I could very well be wrong, but in SEO and Miami, if it walks like a duck.... -- The Walkin' Dude
