It has been over 2 months since we moved to OTOTW so we are not writing this review in the anger of the moment. We had our choice of real estate companies but chose to work with Palm Acres since they are the “real estate agents” for OTOTW. We wanted to start our life in Ocala with the best service available. Trust me Palm Acres is NOT that service.



Over the past ten years we have worked with 5 real estate agents so we are not new to the process. NEVER have we had a real-estate agent and title company so INCOMPENT that they miss the closing date.



Let me take you through the TERRIBLE experience we had with this company. We checked the day we left MI to make sure we would close on the date in the contract. The agent assured us that not only we close on that date but also we would be able to close in the morning so we could have our furniture delivered that day. We arrived in Ocala and took a room in a local motel then drove out to OTOTW on Wednesday to check with our agent. Again we were assured of closing on Friday The next day, Thursday we went to the farmers marked and while there we received a call from the agent saying we could not close on Friday. We were appalled since our moving van driver was told to bring our furniture. So the agent told us not to worry, if we came over to her office and signed a paper we would be able to have our furniture moved in on Friday. We drove over to her office and signed the paper. We were not happy about having to stay in the motel another 3 days at a cost to us of over $400. That night after 5:00 pm the agent called us and told us we could NOT move our furniture in. I had to call our van driver, who was by the way a now former friend and explain that we could not move in until Tuesday.



He was angry but what could he do. So now due to this totally incompetent company not only are our lives disrupted but the life of our van driver as well. Since he lives in Ft Meyers in the winter he had to go to his home park his van and wait. Meanwhile we received a call from his boss the company in Michigan telling us that if the van was not unloaded by Tuesday we would have to pay an additional fee of $600. I call the agent and told her. I think at that time we were ready to walk and move to a different community, however, we calmed down. Then she called and wanted us to sign an amendment to the contract. We drove to her office and she kept us waiting almost 30 minutes. We really thought about our options. We talked about just moving to and apartment, demanding our money back and never going to OTOTW again. Once again we again went over the reasons we had chosen OTOTW and signed the contract. Now we were ready to sign and move in on Tuesday.



You would think that after all of that the agent was through causing us trouble when we finally went to the closing. Not so she still managed to mess us up further. While we were signing papers I asked her what the mail box number was. She told us without a second thought that we would get a new mailbox when we registered with OTOTW. WRONG! We asked at the service center when we registered and were told we would have to drive to the main post office in Ocala to get our box number. WRONG! After standing in a long line at the post office we were told, the real estate agent was suppose to give us the box number when we signed. The post office suggested we drive back to OTOTW find the postal worker there and maybe we could get the box number. Finally after wasting over an hour we got our box number.



One last thing the agent had told us that at closing she would give us the names of people who could help us do the interior work on our unit. After our names were on the papers she rushed out of the room and we could have dropped dead as far as she was concerned.
