What a horrible experience I had here while trying to rent a room! My wife had reserved a room earlier that day and arrived in the wee hours of the morning anxious to get some shut eye. The office had a sign explaining: "after hours ring Bell at room 1." We did just that and oh sweet mother what a nightmare! The owners boyfriend answered the door whom we had unknowingly woken from a sound sleep. The guy told us he had a room available and walked over to the owner's room (Diana) and knocked on the door. Be advised she is not a morning person. The woman was completely rude to us and tried to tell us there wasn't any vacant rooms. We mentioned that her boyfriend told us otherwise so she goes on to tell us "Oh there actually is an open room but it's going to cost ($30 more than what we were told on the phone) and I'll only take cash." The Shamrock Motel had told us earlier that they accept all major cards. At this point our lodging options were limited so we reluctantly agreed to pay the gouged price and the woman had the nerve to feed us this line of horse crap... "My mistake, our vacant room is a king so the fee is actually going to be ($50 more than originally told) and by the way your check out time is 8 am. By now is was almost 6 in the morning. The lady wouldn't agree to a late check out so at this point we got in our car with a bad taste in our mouths and started driving away as 'The Boyfriend' approached while spewing out a wide variety of insults too unpleasant to share on here. The Shamrock Motel ordeal was such a wretched experience for us so much so that I feel obligated to spread the word so that others might be spared the surreal nightmare .
