The first Waffle House restaurant was opened on Labor Day in 1955 in Avondale Estates, Ga. Since then, it has grown into a chain of more than 1,500 company and franchise-owned casual restaurants in over 25 U.S. states. It serves a variety of waffles, steaks, omelets, hamburgers, country ham, pork chops and grits. The restaurant serves specialty dishes, such as Bert's chili, Walt s soup, Alice s iced tea and Lib's patty melt. It offers hash browns in eight different ways. Waffle House serves more than 3 million pounds of grits each year and over 10,000 T-bone steaks each day. Apart from serving food, the restaurant supports various health and human service organizations, youth and education programs, and disadvantage and other civic causes. It conducts in-house events and programs, such as The Great Miller Lite Chili Cook-off and the Waffle House World Waffle Eating Championship.

We went in on a very busy Sunday morning. Therected was a small wait, however, the staff was amazing. Once we were seated, our food was delivered quickly. Daniel was the shift manager during our visit and he and his staff did an excellent job providing fast, friendly service and delicious food. Definitely more than I expected based on the Waffle House where I live. Great Job!!!

Far from the best

Ive been to this waffle house twice in the last couple months and both times were horrible. The first time it was around 2am. The server was very nice, the dishes were very dirty, and the cook did a horrible job. Today our server was an older woman and she wasnt mean but she was very short with us. I didnt get my nacon until my eggs were cold and my mother didnt get butter for her grits till they were cold. Food was cooked properly and tasted good. Both the waffle houses in DIberville are awesome, Ive been several times and will continue to go. I will steer clear of the Ocean Springs Hwy 90 Waffle House.
