St. Luke's UMC closed forever June, 2016
It was a wonderful lifetime experience for me and my entire family.
We miss it terribly, but will be visiting other Odessa UMC locations.
The building on 42nd ST has been purchased and will be a Childcare Facility in the near future.

I worked at St Luke's for many years and found the pastor and the congregation to be extremely friendly and welcoming. Although I started employment there as a stranger to the greater majority of the people there, I felt accepted, and as time went on, became more and more a part of the "family." The only reason I brought my employment to an end there is because I moved away from the area and I still miss the incredible people there. I greatly encourage anyone who may be curious about this welcoming church to attend any of their services or other activities.

I have lived in the Midland/Odessa area for almost 3 years now. I have attended St. Lukes United Methodist Church many times throughout the 3 years. I just recently got engaged and when I went to call the church to talk about using the sanctuary for the ceremony, the Pastor answered the phone. At first I was very surprised and encouraged that the pastor had answered the phone.



When I explained to him that I wanted to use the sanctuary for my ceremony, he asked me if I was a member of the church. I proceeded to tell him that I was not a member, but before I could tell him that I had attended the church, he cut me off and said that it just wouldn't work out at his church. Then he said goodbye and hung up the phone.



I was completely appalled at the way I was treated and will never attend St. Lukes of Odessa again.
