We bought a Culligan water filtering system for our kitchen. When it was time to change the filter, I was very disappointed to see that I could not find any information about how to recycle the used water cartridge. No info on the packaging, nor on their website. I contacted Culligan and Stephanie told me that someone would call me back on Monday. Nobody called so I waited (maybe they are busy?) but finally called them back on Thursday. When I talked to Stephanie again, she acknowledged that the person that was supposed to call me back didn’t do so. She also informed me that Culligan DOES NOT RECYCLE their used Cartridges!! Really, doesn’t it defeat the purpose when people invest in a water filter system in order to do not buy water in plastic bottle? Isn’t Culligan concerned about the environment? Anyway, I asked if she was concerned about the situation, she did not answer (I asked twice…). Then I asked if she could share my concerns with corporate and she said “there is nothing I can do”. Really?? She suggested I send an email to corporate. I asked for an email address and she said she didn’t have any. How can you work for a Company, and not have a SINGLE email address from the Corporate offices?? Good question. Anyway, DO NOT BUY Culligan systems for your water need, they do not care one bit about the environment, and seem to lie whenever it is convenient. Very disappointing experience. Will switch to one of their eco friendly competitors very soon.

Why Charge Labor on Warranty Work?

I purchased an allegedly top-of-the-line system. Within a year the tank cracked and left a salty residue all over my laundry room floor. They brought me a new tank, but charged $70 labor for 20-25 minutes. I questionned the serviceman and he said to contact the manager. I called the manager and he said he would talk to the serviceman and call me back. He never called me back. I am upset that I had to pay $70 to replace something under warranty and furious that this manager couldn't care less about my situation. I won't even contact this place for service let alone any future water softening needs.
