Michigan Public Health Institute is a nonprofit corporation and full-service research, development and educational institution, located in Okemos, Mich. The corporation was founded in 1990 by Michigan State University, the University of Michigan, Wayne State University and the Michigan Department of Community Health. It provides collaborative research and development services in community health, and offers various programs, such as Cancer Control Services program, centers for Advancing Community Health and Health Outcome Policy. In addition, it also offers tobacco use prevention and research, child and adolescent health education and training, professional health recovery programs and health promotion and disease prevention programs. Michigan Public Health Institute provides health system innovations and works with businesses, foundations, state agencies, academic institutions and community organizations.
