I chose to go into medicine at a very young age. I had an interaction with a nurse that changed my perception of the profession. She showed so much compassion towards me, not just as a patient, but as a person. And that really helped with my fears and my overall perception of health care. I wanted to be that person for someone else. I'm most passionate about building relationships with my patients. It's important that patients feel comfortable with their providers. Providers are a big part of their lives, and I want patients to feel like they're coming in to visit with a friend or family member rather than being in a medical clinic. What motivates me most is knowing that my patients are coming to me at a very vulnerable time in their life. And I've been there. I know what they're going through. I've had that apprehension and so being able to provide some ease to their fears and being able to work towards improving their health. That's what motivates me the most.
