I sold my car to Carmax and I was pretty satisfied with the deal and with the rapidity of the process. But for the next car I decided to try Repokar which has a similar site, and I must say that I don't regret either of my choices. I was lucky to find reliable instances.

Approx $7,000 less than true car value. Would suggest getting trade in values from other dealers in town.

I have good credit and put down a large down payment for an expedition . The car was priced at 14,000 but we decided to buy the extended warranty. Thank God! Within 2 weeks the check engine light was on. Should of listened to that red flag. We took it in and they had our car for 3 weeks after first purchasing it. It has now been 10 months of owning the car and we have had to take it in 4 times !!!! We literally just got the car back last week, and the check engine light is on once again! They just had our car 3 weeks, now we have to take it back to them. We've had our car less then a year and were making a monthly payment of $280 for a piece of crap. Here's the kicker, they tried to charge us $250 for a co pay each time, only to find out the car was fixed for the same reason prior to us buying it. They are suppose to sell you a car at optimal performance with everything working (what they claim). The only positive to this is they didnt charge us for their mistake, if you want to count that.

Great buying or selling experience. Most straight forward dealership I have found.

I sold my car to Carmax and had a no hassle experience. Took 30 minutes for them to inspect and test drive car. They offered me more than what I was expecting and was significantly more than what my car dealership wanted to offer. I had a check the same day. Great experience!

We were looking for a Ford Ranger 4x4 V6 2000-2004 in OKC. They wanted 10,900.00 for a 94. Uh negative- thats 200.00 on Craigslist including a Carfax. Dont go here.

I had a good experience buying my car at car max, and selling my old one. I bought the warranty, and tried to use it for the first time recently. The communication from the service department was awful. I had to repeatedly keep calling back to find out the status of the warranty repairs, the front desk girls that answered never knew anything, they repeatedly promised a call back from someone who did know, but those calls never happened. I finally refused to be called back and said I would rather wait on a response, and was put on hold for more than 10 minutes before being disconnected "accidentally".

We have purchased two cars from Carmax in the last two years - a PT Cruiser and a 330ci. We are very happy with both cars and with the sales process. However, if you ever take your car by for repairs, don't plan on seeing it for a while. I took my 330ci in for a simple repair. They sent it to the BMW dealership across the highway and seem to have forgotten about it. Every time I call for an update, I am told that they will find out what the status is and then call back. So far, they don't call back. What should have been a three hour repair is now in it's tenth day. I think that's excessive. I WANT MY CAR BACK.
