Provided by YP.comIt's been a few years since I've been here (where I was 'sort of a' regular ... stopping in once or twice a week as a twenty-something who thought he was a grown-up). But I've been seeing (in the CLASSIFIEDS' ETC. section of the Oklahoma Gazette) how Pat is now selling the place.
And I'm curious as to why I'm not seeing any mention of its 'availability for sale' anywhere else---not that I've been searching for weeks-&-weeks, but the few 'listings of it' I HAVE seen don't even NOTE the availability! They talk about it like there's no 'change of ownership coming soon' or what-have-you.
(And the few 'businesses for sale'-sites I searched don't really mention it ... but like I say, I'm not 'a frequent customer of business-selling' yet.)
And about the bad reviews & "the owner/manager being dull as a doorknob" ... no! I'm not saying 'he's a great guy' (he could be, I dunno), but 'I think' (maybe I heard it elsewhere, maybe I'm imagining to fill-in between a few things I know) that the guy owns a few other bars and bought the place for his mother (Cookie). So he's been running it sort of like "a chore," and selling it now because either she's gone or she just doesn't want it anymore.
And I guess--with enough friends to join you at Cookie's and/or enough "liquid courage" to get up 'on stage' and make a fool of yourself--it's about as welcoming as 'going over to the house of a-friend-of-a-friend' (you might not exactly feel 'at home' there, but you always feel 'welcome.'

Provided by YP.comYou are aware that most all bars are set on "bar time"? This is an accepted practice in the industry and most customers are aware of this policy. Have you not ever noticed that last call is usually between 1:30 a.m. to 1:50 a.m.? This is done in order to get the patrons to finish their drinks, get their tabs settled, and out the door by 2:00 a .m.. By law bars can not have any patrons inside after close. If patrons are caught inside the bar after close the bar and the bartender can heavy fines and could result in the bartender going to jail. Please consider this next time you decide you want another drink at a quarter til close.
Now, I can understand your displeasure with the bartender uttering obscenities and acting in an unprofessional manner. That is never acceptable. However, you have either intentionally or unintentionally ommitted what it was your husband said when he expressed his dissatisfaction. His comments could have incited this behavior.
I have recently discovered this bar (apparently two months after the above incident) and I enjoy it a lot. The crowd is diverse and it is a bar that comes to mind when I think of a neighborhood bar. The prices are reasonable, they have a great turnout for karaoke on the weekends, and I have yet to experience bad service. This has become a bar that I regularly frequent and one in which I would highly recommend. So hcc108 why not give the bar another chance, take the above advice into consideration, and I can assure you that you will have a better experience.

Provided by YP.comI am a bartender at Cookies and I don't believe the things that are being said about this establishment! My name is AJ and people love me there! Of course everyone has their favorite bartender! I don't understand why you would say those things about people who serve you alcoholic beverages. You must have been kicked out for your bad behavior lol... I take really good care of myself and I do not look like I am fifty five! I am sure that it is you that is unfit and has serious issues. Cookies is a place to get away and sing karaoke. You don't always have American Idol singers singing karaoke but is just KARAOKE! It is a way to just let go of your daily stresses! It is your perception that the bartenders drink behind the bar. There is always one person that doesn't like the people that are working in an establishment and that is why it is your choice whether to come to Cookies or choose another establishment. I think we all have people that like us and some that don't that is your American right to make that choice! Get over it and find something else to do! Email me personally if you would like to respond to this review. [email protected] BTW learn how to spell!

Provided by YPmobileI went to cookie's on a lark one Wednesday night, and apparently hit the jackpot. It's the only night I guess this bartender worked. Cuz Ive been back since she was so nice and focused and sober, her name was Mel. She really treated me like a person. I wish I could say that about all the bartenders.

Provided by YP.comWe were having a good time singing Kareoke at this place and then realized that the bartender had turned the clock ahead so she could say the place was closing. When we asked for another drink everybody's watches and cell phones said that it was 1:45 am but the clock she had turned said after 2:00. My husband expressed his dissatisfaction and she flicked him off and yelled swear words at him as we left and even went to far as to come out the front door to yell obscenities at him. If I were the owner, she would not have a job there any longer.
