We use Hermans plumbing for everything! They are always great and make it a priority to get to you as soon as they can. We have used them for years now.

Do not call this company for plumbing repairs

I use this company for a leak that we had already dug out. This two guys came and try to take the water out with a cup to see the leak in the pipe. They didn't had the part they needed so they take another hour to go get the part. They come back fixe the leak we turn the water back on and the fitting comes apart. Takes another hour to fixe it. Then gives me a bill for almost six hundred dollars. And they are telling me they are charging me for a two man job when only one guy did the work. If someone is planing on using this company get ready to pay outrages price. Won't use them ever again. It was simply replacing a broken t which it had already trouble shot.

I've used Hermans for years and always had good service. In the last few years though it seems like they have sent out people who don't display a lot of confidence in being able to get the work done. Last time I called them out I had a drain clog in the tub. It wasn't easy for the young man to get the drain unclogged but he did. He also told me that they would need to dig up my slab in the kitchen to fix the clog which he wasn't confident he fixed. Never had a problem with the drain since then. But it concerns me he thought he'd need to do an expensive job like digging up my kitchen slab.

Also, last Summer, my AC wasn't cooling well. Two guys came out and checked the compressor and said it had "low pressure" and I'd need to get a new compressor. One of the guys also cleaned out the vents on the AC and told me I needed to do that twice a year. Well, I just couldn't afford a new compressor. So they added Freon or whatever the new stuff is and then left. Since then my AC has worked fine It cools great. My overall concern is the last few times Hermans had been out they have tried to upsale me on more expensive repairs when they actually fixed the issue. Their tech are always polite and professional. Just have a problem with them wanting to do stuff it seems like I don't need.

I called about a problem with ...

I called about a problem with a drain for and air-conditioning condenser that was slow to drain. The plumber came out, did some work, went away and the next day the problem I called that originally came back. So it had never been fixed really. They came back again and this time created a small leak in the plumbing leading to the drain for the A/C condenser. I called him back and they can fix that. The problem I called about originally, slow draining A/C condenser drain was never fixed. Still, I was charged for the repair. The plumber came out third time said that he thought there might be a problem with the clogged vent leading to the roof. He said he would have to check with the Oklahoma City building code to see what could be done about that the city would do that and call me back. It's been three weeks now, and I still don't have a call back about that. So I do not recommend Herman's plumbing.

TWO ISSUES - (1) WATER HEATER ...

TWO ISSUES - (1) WATER HEATER VENT STACK SEAL BROKEN DUE TO POOR WORKMANSHIP and (2) GAS LEAK DUE TO POOR WORKMANSHIP; 1) Herman's Plumbing was sub-contracted out by a large retail store to replace and install a newly purchased hot water heater in my home. Note that my roof was 3 years new and had not leaked once to this point. Two of Herman's employees replaced and installed a hot water heater. One employee inside the closet and the other on my roof both manipulating the water heater vent stack so the piping would align. In their attempt(s), they broke the flashing/collar seal of the stack through the roof and shingles. It rained and leaked.Unfortunately for me, Herman's does not offer after hours, emergency or weekend service, so I was forced to leave a message and watch rainwater drip through my roof. The retailer could not offer assistance either. Two days after I left my message was I then contacted by Herman's plumbing. The original two installers returned to assess and attempt to fix the problem they caused. The Herman's plumbers applied silicon and tar around the exterior exhaust stack on the roof and did the same on the interior just under the roof. These plumbers then acted as though they were roofers and started blaming the roofing company for poor workmanship. These Herman's plumbers then used the silicon and began to fill in the gaps or spacing between the shingles claiming that the spacing was much too large and that was the reason for the leak. They depart. Three days later on a Saturday, it rains again so my roof leaks again. Another phone message is left with Herman's. During a phone call Herman's again places blame on the roofing company but agrees to send out a different employee to repeat the same process as before; more tar and silicon. Issue 1 & 2 now happen in-conjunction with one another. It rains again. In my attempt to inspect the waterheater closet for rainwater leaks (which it is leaking again), I notice a significant gas smell in the laundry space. We had attributed minor odd smells to the laundry area and Herman's plumbers stated that any noise was from the gas pipes having to be replumbed because of being new. By noise I refer to a "hiss". Twice within an hour, and again it is after hours, do I have to call Herman's and leave messages; 1 about the roof leak and 2 about the gas leak. I secure the gas and call the gas company. The gas company arrives inspects and is able to pinpoint the leak. He finds that the pipe was not secured/tightened enough and was able to add 2 additional turns better securing the fitting. 2 additional turns that Herman's plumber failed to make causing the gas leak. Keeping the retailer informed they advise me too that they are trying to work with Herman's about these issues. I visit Herman's offices, for the first time, to speak directly to their managers. The business manager advises me they are not available. I explain to the business manager the details (again) since this is the same person I have been dealing with. The two original Herman's employees show up then to add more silicon and tar to the roof and stack area and bubble test the gas leak (that the gas comp fixed the night before). These same two employees continued blaming the roofers all the while filling in the gaps between the shingles. Getting the roofers involved, it was determined now I need the area fixed. I again visit Herman's plumbing to speak with management about their responsibility. Again, "they are not available". I am told that the managers would be notified and I would be contacted later. Herman's management never contacted me. In conclusion, Herman's refused to accept responsibility. The retailer paid for the roof repair and replaced the hot water heater.

Just had a hot water heater in...

Just had a hot water heater installed that was purchased from one of the big home improvement stores with the installation contracted to Herman's Plumbing.

The basic install price at the big box store was $269 with the contractural agreement that the install cost could go up depending on the "Code" upgrade required. When the plumber and helper arrived they evaluated the situation, call the office and then told me it would be an additional $256+ upgrade charge. Being in a bind with company coming in to visit, I went ahead and ok'd the deal. Less than an hour later they had completed the work which was comprised of replacing a cut off valve, (which I furnished), the hot and cold flex tubes, installing the drain pan and running plastic tubing from the relief valve to the floor drain, all of which (except for the cut off valve) are required in order to install the water heater in the first place. I am very unhappy with this business transaction and expressed this to both companies to no avail.

Compounded the problem

Were able to come same day for a sometimes slow drain. They left us with a completely clogged drain AND charged us over $100. Feel completely ripped off.

My husband called them the next day to get them to come back out since the drain was completely clogged. The said they would be out that day. Then someone called back and said there was no point in them coming back out because they believed a pipe was crushed somewhere. So We called Wiggy's. They came out right away, found the problem within 10 minutes and fixed it. It took them about an hour and a half and they only charged us $120. One dollar more than we paid Herman's to completely stop up a slow drain. Next time we'll completely skip the paying someone to make it worse part and go straight to Wiggy's.
