Provided by YP.comMelissa A’s review could not be further from the truth. My son is 2.5 years old and has been at Primrose in SW OKC since 9/2016. I have seen nothing but exponential growth in his understating of the world around him. Comparing his development to his friends in “in-home” daycare's or other childcare facilities is night and day.
Primroses’ disciplinary strategies do not sit children in “time-out” all day. While they do utilize time out as a disciplinary strategy, the times are age appropriate, and there communication both during and after the discipline. I can vouch for this personally as my son has both required time outs and has been on the receiving end of other children’s time outs. Primrose is a structured school but they also have teachers there with several years of early childhood experience. They cannot, and should not have children doing whatever they want whenever they want. Your child will not just “sit/listen/perform” but the day is scheduled allowing children to know what is coming next and what to expect.
My son has had classmates who have stayed behind longer and/or moved up earlier to accommodate their milestones.
They produce a lots of art projects, along with class games and activities, to showcase the day’s/week’s/month’s learning objectives. The idea that the teachers are making these projects is nonsensical. Not only do parents have access to the “tadpoles” app, where pictures of their children making the projects are posted, but the volume of art would be overwhelming for the staff to make themselves.
Primrose is an expense school, however it is the best early childhood development program in the OKC metro. This garners the higher price; the facility is new, clean and modern; the meals are balanced, healthy and nutritious; the staff is highly qualified, kind and caring; the curriculum is engaging, nuanced, and creative. Quality comes at a price, and I believe that my son’s care and education is worth that price. More to write length restricted

Provided by YP.comMy son attended SW Primrose and it’s a parenting decision I truly regret. My son received mediocre care and often times spent his days in “time-out”. Majority of the classroom teachers have no credentials let alone any formal childhood education training, If your child doesn’t fit the mold of listening/sitting/performing tasks as directed this is NOT the school for you.
There is constant transition from room-to-room, with a HIGH teacher turnover. Every few weeks, there was a new teacher in my sons room. And just when my son would get comfortable in his assigned classroom, he was moved up to make space for other children – even if he wasn’t ready!
Aside from the front counter staff, teacher moral is very low. This low moral is passed along to the children in the classroom. In one classroom my son’s teacher expressed to me multiple times that she felt my two-year old had ADD/ADHD and would express frustration when he wouldn’t listen and/or obey. I later discovered that my completely NORMAL son had a slight speech delay. Instead of working with the parents to have a parent paid speech therapist come onsite, Primrose decided that my son wasn’t a good fit for the school.
While there is a curriculum calendar, please know that the teachers will send home artwork/activities that the teachers complete themselves. Perfectly cut circles; perfectly potted flowers; perfectly glued sticks. Be aware that the teachers have clear favorites; often the favorite children have parents that work at Primrose. So unless you plan on working at Primrose, I strongly recommend trusting another center for your child’s development.
In addition to the outrageous tuition, Primrose will definitely let you know when Teacher Appreciation week is. They will “push” down your throat “gift” ideas that you should bring to the teachers every day. Maybe if the owners spent more time getting teacher moral up themselves, they wouldn’t have to rely on parents buying gifts to keep their staff.
