Extremely bad experience of my life

I have been a loyal member for a long time and due to work and being busy I wasn't going there regularly but still paying my fees, however one fine day I get a call from collection agency? My credit card on file expired and no one called me to inform, although they had my cellphone number on file. I was extremely frustrated since I never had to deal with the collection agency. Never received a single letter, phone call or any sort of communication of my credit card expiring. No one had any good explanation and I ended up paying a huge amount to the collection agency to avoid any negative reporting! If they want a certified letter (most absurd policy in this latest technology) to have the membership canceled, they should also send a certified letter or at least some communication about credit card being expired before making extra money with collection agency. Very bad business practice. Al though in your above response you claimed you have several members in your gym, a good business acumen-ship is to provide excellent customer experience and that will give your business more members. Just don't be happy with what you got but aim for more. I am not a negative person at all and this is the first time I am doing this but I wanted someone to listen to the very bad experience I have gone through.

My husband joined the gym and prepaid the trainer Patrick Thomas for 1month of training. My husband went 3 times and decided he didnt want to train anymore. He asked Patrick for a refund for his unused sessions and he refused to pay him back. It was about $325.00 he owes my husband. I consider that stealing and bad business. I'm self imployed and would never treat people this way.

NO STARS for The "New" Weight Room Management



I -was- a faithfully paying member with The Weight Room from 2007 until my debit card expired (note: paying not actually attending). Sometime in 2011 my card on file expired but The Weight Room didn't contact me until March 2013. So I get a call from employee requesting payment or he notifies me they will turnover the debt to a collection company. I was a bit frustrated with youngman so requested to speak with a manager but no manager was available so therefore I asked for a return call from a manager. I never received a return call from any supervisor, manager or owner. A few weeks ago I had my credit pulled and guess what? A collection from The Weight Room (Now I'm ANGRY). I call TWR and speak with the manager requesting copies of my contract to review the cancellation policy...Guess What? Three weeks later I still have NO copies of my contract from The Weight Room or a call from the management staff.



*Please note that I am not opposed to paying whatever fees are due but I need the documentation and would appreciate some professional courtesy (i.e. return your calls and perform the duties of responsible manager).

This gym doesn't even deserve ...

This gym doesn't even deserve one star. The day i signed up i was told this is a month to month membership and no contract!!!!! NO CONTRACT!!!!!! Guess the Staff members needed to make some commission that day!!! That if i wanted to cancel to send a certified letter with my member number and they would cancel. this is also what they told me the day i called to cancel. I specifically asked if it would result in any cancellation fee's. They told me NO!!! I did as they asked and went to the post office to send a certified letter, Which i think is the most retarted thing in the world!! Have you heard of technology and someone walking in to CANCEL!!!! i received a call today from a Mark Youngblood saying he's the new district manager and i'm obligated to a ONE YEAR CONTRACT!!! WIsh i would of known this.. I would of canceled after one day!!! The gym is old, outdated, equipment is always broken and it takes weeks to fix it, equipment always comes up missing. The crossover machines don't work, the fly machine never works, just about every treadmill in the gym is broken and the olipticals are crap!!! The olymptical Bars are BENT!!! and dumbells are falling a part!! People don't Re-Rack their weights!! The Staff does nothing!! You go to take a shower in the morning and you'll have a million bugs in the shower with you and the bathrooms smell like carp and are never clean. Durring the winter time they don't turn on the heater so it's 30 degrees in the gym and the staff isn't friendly at all. After your done working out. Look at your hands.. They'll look like you've been doing construction work for the last 12hrs they are so dirty.. This gym by far is the worst gym in OKC!!! Don't let them take you for a ride and mislead you the way they mislead me!!! I've worked out at every gym in the OKC area and this by far is the worst experience i've ever had a gym!!! Why would anyone sign a one year contract with them, when you can go down the street to GOLDS GYM!!! and get no contract for the same monthly rate!! Or Planet Fitness for the same monthly rate!!! At these gyms you'll get new equipment, clean bathrooms, a clean gym, friently staff members, and trainers with certifications that look like trainers!! Don't get stuck workingout in a garage with 1950's equipment when there's multiple places for the same price that won't SCAM you!! I asked to speak with the Owner!! This guy says he doesn't take calls!!! you would of though Mark Youngblood is the CEO of the weightroom considering they only have one gym in the entire state of OKLAHOMA!!!!!

I injured my knee about a year ago and subsequently asked them to suspend my membership given that the terms of my contract (1 year) had been more than fulfilled. I offered to drive to the gym and complete the paperwork in person and they told me that this would not be acceptable! Their response was to flat out refuse my request and keep billing my credit card until I sent a certified letter demanding that they cease & desist! Somehow these slime balls continued to bill my credit card even after I changed the #. (Still not sure how the hell they pulled that one off.) These people will do anything they can to squeeze another dollar out of you!!

When I first began using the Weight Room there were a large number of friends using the same gym so the shortcomings of the place were easy to overlook. Over time more & more of their treadmills began to break without being repaired or replaced. We soon realized that the "Out of Order" signs were a semi-permanent addition. I'll admit that they do have a wide variety of free weights, but everything else in their gym is worn out!! (Cable equipment, stationary bikes, ellipticals, tanning beds, etc.) When you walk in it feels like you went through a time warp and landed in 1989. THESE PEOPLE ARE CROOKS!
