Provided by YP.comAt the end of Feb 2013, on a Tuesday, I took my special needs child into the Olathe Medical Clinic to be seen. The original doctor was running an hour and forty-five minutes behind so they asked if she could see the PA. We agreed that was fine, and had what I thought was a good visit. Upon leaving the PA told me she would do some research one some of the specialty issues my child was having and wrote us a script for another issue that was easy to take care of. When I took the script into the Medical Supply store I was told it had to be written a certain way in order for the insurance to pay out on it. I called the next day (Wednesday) and left a message on the Nurse's voicemail about the script and what it needed to say. When I did not hear anything back, I called again a few days later (Friday) and was asked to leave another message for the Nurse. A few days after the second message (Monday), an issue arose where I need documentation from the visit with the PA, and I still had not heard back about the script. I called again and was told that "The Nurse is rooming patients but leave her a message she has your chart and as soon as (the PA) comes out from her patient, she will get that taken care of for you." The next day I called to see if the PA's note about our visit and the issues discussed, and the script were ready yet. The Young lady who took the call told me that the PA's note would cost $14.00 and the script was ready, but that I had only called about it the day before. I told her that I had called about it over a week ago and had heard no response. She proceeded to argue with me that I did not leave any messages prior to the day before. (Mind you this was not the same Nurse the messages were left for.) I also told her that I was not willing to pay $14.00 for a medical document requested by the school. She rudely informed me that without the $14.00 I could not get the PA's note. I told her that was fine, I just wanted the script. She responded with "It's ready, but you only called yesterday...." and continued her rant as I hung up. I arrived at the Medical Clinic and not only was the note not a note it was "directions", the script was the wrong script! I had to tell the same Nurse I had left three messages for what I needed that script for. Then the Nurse looked at me and stated, in front of the other Nurse who was so rude on the phone and the receptionist, that the PA did not remember our conversation during the visit with my child. The Nurses offered to put us in a room to "discuss" it with the PA whenever she had a chance to talk with us. .... We walked out. If a PA can not remember treating and having an very important conversation with the parents of a special needs child then there is no reason for her to treat my child. I should not have to leave three messages, argue with staff, and show up in person to get the correct script. I have been a MA for 14 years and have never seen incompetence in an office like I have experienced at the Olathe Medical Clinic.
