The Kid Company used to be a great place where my child was thriving, learning, really connecting with everyone involved, wanting to go to school, etc. Unfortunately with the new ownership last March (2015), things have drastically gone down hill. When they first took over and were "meeting" all the parents, I got the impression that they were feeling forced to be there, that they didn't really want to meet us. They advertise that they have an open door policy and I was personally told by them that the were going to be involved and available to all of us parents, but in actuality, their lack of involvement is complete mind boggling. I ended up pulling my children because after the director left, they came in acting conpletely uninterested and didn't even know my child's name after several weeks. To top it off, I heard that they chose to add to their holiday closure list but then raise their rates from what other parents have told me. so esentially, you are being charged more money for less time. I would never recommend this center (or the south location) to anyone since the new owners took over. They deliberately lied to us about several things, including the fact that teachers were not allowed to take smoke breaks. Not only did several of the teachers smell of smoke on a daily basis, teachers go on smoke breaks all the time and are not required to change their shirt prior to returning to work and hold children. I would strongly encourage anyone needing child care to pick a different place, even if having to pay a little more.
