Over priced - bad service - learned later they have a C rating with Better Business Bureau

Short version. Very bad experience and would NOT recommend this company.
Long version: The Tech was scheduled to arrive between 9:30 and 1:30. Tech did not arrive until 3:40. Was unable to run errands in the morning and early afternoon. When the Tech did arrive, he worked on our AC and said he found a leak. No mention of cost. I checked again with him and he was up to 2 pounds of refrigerant but still no mention of cost. When he was done, I was presented a bill for $416.00 for four pounds of refrigerant. That simply floored me. First of all I can't believe that the refrigerant costs that much, especially when one company does a tune up with up to one pound of coolant for $19.95 and another company up to two pounds for $39,95. So, I grudgingly paid the man and he went on his way. I then called their office to speak with a manager but hung up before he could get to the phone as I was really not ready to talk. Shortly afterward, the Tech reappeared and said he was told that I had called. Their offer to make things right? A free diagnosis of my system to see where the leak was coming from. Downside to this offer? I had to use them to fix it. Who knows what that would cost for the parts and labor! What kind of deal is that???
Now the main reason I called them was to address an issue with our AC running frequently and staying on for minutes after the desired temp was reached (AC was running too long and too often). Even after getting the refrigerant filled back up, the AC was still running well after reaching the desired temp. I would not have addressed that with him if he had not come back to our home because of my phone call to their office. He assured me that the AC should shut off immediately after it reaches the correct temp. So, I told him I would get a new thermostat and fix it myself (which I did and now it works like a champ).
So to again recap, not a good experience at all. If you decide to use this company, be prepared to write a big check. And don't plan on going anywhere that day.

UPDATE: Given the fact that they put 4 pounds of refrigerant in the system, you'd think there would be a rather easy to find leak. Not so. Another AC company just checked my system and could not find a leak. After my system was low by 4 pounds! Doesn't sound right to me!

ANOTHER UPDATE: Got a call from a manager five days after their service call and he wanted to know about my experience (he saw my posts online). I explained what happened and he said that's not how they do business. First he admitted that the AC could not be down by 4 pounds and still cool at all. Second, that the Tech should have gotten a signed authorization before starting the work once it was determined how much it would cost (that was never done). Third, I explained that he did not try to find a leak while checking out the system (since the system was supposedly down by that much it should be a big leak; very easy to find). Fourth, the AC was still not shutting off once the desired temp was reached. It would continue running for up to 5 minutes even after reaching the desired temp (which was only 77 degrees). It did that before he left and he saw it. The system was running on and off multiple times in an hour (I kept a log one night) and that was not resolved. He offered to put a new thermostat in but I told him I could that myself as it was not that complicated.
So, when the manager tried to call me back concerning a resolution, I was at work and could not take his call. I called him later that day when I got home and he answered. He told me he was just sitting down to dinner with his family and assured me he would call me back. No problem. Except that he never called me back that night or the next day. I sent him a text but never got a reply.
So, you as a customer will have to decide if this is the kind of company you want to do business with.
