East Richland Middle School operates under East Richland Community Unit School District 1 and offers educational programs to more than 450 students in grades six through eight. Its curriculum includes reading, writing, English, social studies, mathematics, science, computer application and technical education, history, language arts and foreign language. In addition, it offers special education program that includes government and health lessons, modern technology and resource and life skill classes. The school offers various extracurricular activities, such as music, club, band, arts, chorus, physical education and sports that include cross country and tracks. It offers administrative, nursing, custodian and food services, and its counseling program includes individual and group counseling, parent educational support groups, facilitation of interagency meetings, workshops, and home visits.
