Doggy Don't

After 8 hours my dog was still not finished. I pulled up to check on him because it was closing time and most of the staff were outside smoking. I entered the building and it was filthy. There was debris on the ground the walls were dirty. I felt guilty that I left my dog there in the first place. In fairness they had just moved into the "new" building but I could not get over the fact that they had decided to open when the building was in such a state. It looked like they had set up shop in a bomb shelter. In the main entrance hallway there is a stairway to the left. They had used a baby gate to block it off and on the other side of the gate was a pile of dirt and debris. How much effort would it have taken to sweep it up and at least have the building clean before opening? I run a business as well and my first building was not much to look at. However, I made sure it was clean and did my best to make it look professional as well.

We past the smoking staff and made our way to the front desk. There was no one there so we stood waiting. We could hear two groomers in the back talking bad about another customer. They were making comments about how difficult the dogs were and how the owner was just lucky that they could find a groomer at all to do their dogs. Apparently that dog's owner had called upset about the length of time that it had taken and that his dogs were not finished. I could relate to that! My family and I stood in silence in the filthy waiting room for about six minutes listening to their conversation. The smokers finished their cigarettes and came in behind us. One of went into the back and we could hear them chastising the two groomers in the back for not coming out to help us.

We get our dog. He is a mess. In fairness they warned me before they started that he would look really funny when we picked him up. On our part as owners we had dropped the ball. When we brought our 5 month Yorkie puppy in he was quite matted. He is our first pet in many years and we had been using the wrong brush. So the haircut was expected and they were careful to warn us before they began that he would be very short. They had also asked me when I dropped him off if I would like his ear clipped. It is the breed standard for Yorkies. I told them no and that I like his ears the way they are. They cut his ears anyway and when I asked them about it they said "yah well he was passed around to so many of our staff that we forgot" “Sorry about that"

It had been 8 hours. My dog had not eaten, he was bald, and to top it off he was not finished. They told me to bring him back tomorrow and they would finish. Hmmm that was funny. We had had enough.

It apears that I am the one at fault here. I left my dog there in the first place.....
