This year I decided to have my taxes done by a professional for the first time, and I wanted them done by a local company instead of H&R Block. I called up, and asked them what I needed to bring in, because I didn't even know the basics. They gave me some basic info on the new standard deductible, how the numbers worked, and that they might not be able to do much for me, and that I might want to just use Turbotax again.

I decided to go ahead with it, because it's only about twice as much as Turbotax costs, and I'd be supporting local business. I'm certainly glad that I did! They saved me almost 900$ on my taxes! Now, I'll admit that might be the case if I had done it myself, but I would still highly recommend trying these guys! I was fully prepared to ask paranoid questions about their privacy policy, and what to do if I get audited, but I could just tell these guys weren't grifters. The adorable office dog may have helped.
