This place is great. You should make a reservation. They assign the window tables according to when the reservation comes in. I have also sat in the wine cellar for a birthday party. The cellar does not have a view, but is cozy. The martinis are fantastic, but the wine flights are even better. We have always had excellent service there. They just changed the menu recently, and have a few more vegetarian options. I really like the edamame, and the proscuitto wrapped asparagus.

I have been to the Swing Wine Bar and Cafe twice now. The first time I was there with a group of 7. The food was pretty good, but after the long wait I suppose I would have eaten just about anything. The service was terrible but they had just opened and we were a large party so I cut them some slack and even made a second reservation. My second experience was miserable; we were finally seated 30mins after our reservation. Then we were left at the table and completely ignored (no bread, no water, and no contact from wait staff) for another 20 minutes. We finally ordered and waited even longer. When some time had passed and we hadn't received our drinks we finally left without eating. I would not recommend this restaurant. There are many nice restaurants in Olympia and this restaurant did not meet our expectations.

We made our reservations 3 weeks in advance for Swing. I had heard good thing about this place but was warned about how busy they are. The place is small so seating is limited. We arrived early and still had to wait about 15 minutes past our reservation time to get a table. Once at the table, we waited about 10 more minutes before the waitress even acknowledged us. She acted surprised that we didn't already know the specials. We ordered and proceeded to wait even longer. Finally 10 minutes after ordering we left as we still had not received our drinks, soup nor any bread. Overall the service was terrible. It was very disappointing and the place is in a great location and does have a great atmosphere. We did end up talking to the owner before we left. She apologized but was not too sympathetic and didn't really seem to understand what good customer service is all about.
