In response to Shame On You:First, we appreciate your review which gives us an opportunity to answer questions or clarify a particular situation. As a licensed plumber with 35 years of experience who takes the additional time and effort to continue studying areas that are outside the average plumbing trade requirements, I will address your concerns in a professional and informed manner.We have many customers that we recommend and install Root X for. This leads me to believe you may have a misunderstanding of the conversation you quoted in your review. I will here, try to clarify.Most chemical treatments for root control in a sewer have an average of 3 to 5 years that the chemical is effective if applied properly. The Root X product that you have mentioned has a one year warranty against a blockage of live tree root. You indicated you have an annual root problem, which indicates you may have a severe root problem in your sewer. In a severe root problem, chemical treatment only may not be enough. Your treatments you have been getting, whether mechanical or chemical, may be the incorrect treatment for your situation. There are a lot of factors that can affect the treatments you are using such as; your water PH level may be interfering with your chemical treatment, etc. There is so much involved that it can be hard to diagnose your situation over the telephone. That is the reason we would recommend to a caller that we come out to first diagnose your specific problem which may necessitate inspection of your sewer with a camera. In your review, you said “I now know that any time you ask a plumber who knows you have yearly problems with tree roots, they lie and say Root X doesn’t work so they can come on out again next year. That immediately made me a bit leery…” If you state that you have an annual problem, wouldn’t that mean that you need that problem addressed on an annual basis? Or, could it possibly mean that you may be getting an incorrect treatment for your problem? Without seeing or properly diagnosing your problem we cannot answer this for you and we regret that we did not get the opportunity to do this for you at the time of your call.

I called A&A Plumbing to find out how much they would charge to clean a main line. Their price wasn't bad. But then I asked about Root X. I immediately got a "It doesn't work." response. I let him know that I've used it before, and it did seem to help. I now know that any time you ask a plumber who knows you have yearly problems with tree roots, they will lie and say Root X doesn't work so they can come on out again next year. That immediately made me a bit leery, so I kept calling around and found someone who won't lie to me.

We first had A & A come out and check the drain, only to find everything draining fine. We called them out again and they found our basement line backup and their technician cleared that line out to the street. Wanting to save money on a third visit we told them we would handle it, A & A said no way, we will finish what we started and get the kitchen drain cleared also, and repiped our newly installed garbage disposal, all this at a very fair cost. A & A is our plumber of choice

I contacted A & A plumbing to fix a clog that was blocking both the bathroom sink and shower. They arrived on time which was within 1.5 hours of being called. They assessed the situation and was able to implement a plan and solve our drain problem in a timely manner. They also performed this service for a very fair price that was agreed upon before work even started. They were very friendly and efficient. I would highly recommend this company to anyone with any type of plumbing or drainage problems. These guys are first class all the way.

A & A Plumbing was AMAZING!!!! They unclogged both the kitchen and bathroom sinks. The kitchen sink had been clogged for over 2 years! I had previously called a big name company, and they were afraid to try to unclog the kitchen sink, since it had been clogged for so long!!! A & A was friendly, but didn't stand around chatting. They came the same day they were called, kept me informed as to what they were doing and charged a very reasonable rate! I would highly recommend!!!!

My tech was Andy and I was very impressed with the service he provided. He explained things to me well and I didn't feel like he was trying to upsell me on unnecessary services. I would recommend them to anyone!

I had A&A Plumbing out to do some repairs in my home. I was impressed with the way my options were explained to me so I could make the right decision. I thought the cost was reasonable and I was happy with the results. I will use them again and have already recommended them to others.
