Bruce and Joyce Hansen founded Great Plains Auto Body in November 1988 as a family owned and operated auto body repair shop. We first opened our doors in Omaha, Nebraska in a 5000 square foot leased facility at 78th and F Street. In 1992, 2,500 square feet were added. In 1996, we purchased the 17,000 square foot building and 3 and 1/2 acres of land, which currently serves as the first of our three locations. In 2000, we underwent a major addition to the repair facilities (adding 12,000 square feet), as well as an extensive remodel to the administrative offices. Along the way, we have found hard working employees who believe in the high level of auto body repair service we want to provide. In 2007, we opened a second location in the Lake Manawa area of Council Bluffs, Iowa. This location helps us serve our friends and customers in Western Iowa and Eastern Nebraska, and is easily accessible from I-80 In 2012, we opened our third location on Emmet Street in Omaha near 108th and Maple. This location is conveniently located off of I-680 and Maple Street for easy access. Our Emmet Street location also has a night shift to speed up the waiting time for repair. What's one more? In the fall of 2016 we given an amazing opportunity to expand again. We purchased our 4th location - Charlie Graham in Midtown. We gained an experienced team, a collision center and branched into the mechanical end of the business. The day to day operations of Great Plains Auto Body and our 4 locations is in the hands of the second generation of Hansen's. Matt and Erin Hansen run the day to day operations and have been the driving force behind the expansions. Our team we've put together work day in and day out to make sure we are the best we can be.
