Jardee Mechanical Heating & Air Conditioning

So my boiler decides not to fire up today & it's Minus ZERO outside. So after tinkering around with it for 2 hrs., starting at 5am, I get it going.



A little back story now; having moved here from Chicago a few years back, I was amazed to find out that there are so few Domestic Boiler Service places in this town & yet it seems it has quite a few houses that have high efficient hot water boiler heat. Anyway, when I moved here, I figured that I'd better buy spare critical parts for Old Bertha because it can get very cold etc.. & there are only like 2 or 3 parts on this Old but last forever, Girl that can go out, which I did!



So anyway, having had a bad experience a few years back when I had a problem before my CYA agenda, when this happened today, I spent a few hours trying to track down some boiler service. That's when I called Mike Jardee. After explaining to him what was going on & advising him that I had all the possible, & impossible to buy in Omaha, parts that might need to be replaced, he stopped me there & told me that he Would Not use customer supplied parts, PERIOD & that he wouldn't help me even though it was ZERO outside. I explained to him that I had the parts because Nebraska is No Place to play games in Winter & that none of the supply houses had what I needed in stock anyway & that it would take 2 days to get one in, if they could. Better Safe Than Sorry!



Bottom line was, Jardee would rather have me freeze than do a service call because he would loose the 200% mark-up on the parts. I'd take this into consideration as a moral issue if you are thinking of ever using Jardee HAVC / Boiler Service.



Upside to the story!! I did then, after many more calls, find Grunwald Boiler/HAVC & spoke with Janet who told me it was a bad day as all the Techs were out on other calls but she would try to see if one could Help us out. She said she'd call me within an hour & let me know if she had any luck. Guess what? She did & had Steve come out & he fixed the problem in just a few minutes using one of my Spare Parts! 5 STARS to Grunwald Heating & Air!!
