Dropped lawn mower off on morning of Saturday, March 25, for standard maintenance (blade sharpening, etc.) The mower had run well the previous summer. Was told that it would take 2 to 3 weeks due to busy season.
After 3 weeks had passed, called shop and left claim ticket number on voice mail on Monday, April 17, at 10am.
Did not receive any phone call from shop. Called again on Friday, April 21, at 3:45pm and left second message.
On the morning of Saturday, April 22 (4 weeks after I dropped it off), I went into the shop and asked to check on the status of my claim ticket. A mechanic looked it up in the system, seemed confused about the nature of the service that it was awaiting, then confirmed that they had not worked on it yet and that it would be done by Tuesday or Wednesday of the following week (April 25, 26).
After receiving no phone calls, returned to the shop on Saturday, April 29, and asked to check the status of my claim ticket again. Owner of shop responded dismissively "If it was done, they would have called you." He took the ticket and looked it up in the system, but seemed confused by what he saw and said that he needed to send me downstairs to the shop to look into it.
I went downstairs, and a mechanic looked up my ticket and seemed similarly confused. He confirmed that they had my name in the system but no mower under it, and the claim ticket record itself was closed which meant that he no longer had access to any information about the record or it's history. We proceeded to walk around the shop attempting to find the mower. After more than 10 minutes of walking around the shop and two separate outdoor areas, on our second pass of the "junkyard" we found the mower. It had a sign taped to it that included the claim ticket number, and the description "Junk. Dipstick had no oil." He pulled the dipstick and showed me that there was only small amount of oil on the very end. When I asked if the mower still ran at all, he showed me that the cylinder heads weren't even attached, and instead were inside a plastic bag that had also been taped to the mower handle. I could also see that a vent cover on the side appeared to be partially detached as well.
He pointed out that the sign indicating that the mower was junk was dated March 31, meaning it was sitting in the junk pile for:
- 2 weeks before I called the first time
- 2 weeks before I paid someone else to mow my lawn (when I could have just gone out and bought a new mower and saved money)
- 3 weeks before the first time I went into the shop in person, where i was told they had not worked on it yet, and that it would still be a few more days
- 4 weeks before the second time I went to the shop in person where the owner dismissively told me that if they had worked on it, they would have called me
The mechanic said that he didn't want to put too much time into it for fear of driving up the cost of the total service, but agreed to put it back together and see if he could get it running. One hour later, he called me to let me know that he could not get the mower to start.
At no point has anyone from the shop ever called me about anything, with the exception of the call from the mechanic to let me know that my mower was dead, approximately 5 weeks, 2 phone calls, and 2 in-person visits after I dropped off the mower for simple maintenance. Only after contacting the Better Business Bureau did they even reply to an email, and that was just to declare that I was an unreasonable liar.

Took my mower here for repairs and they did any AWESOME job, don't let the few bad reviews change your mind about doing business here, in fact I wouldn't go anywhere else, obviously some of the people giving the bad reviews are lying because I've ALWAYS had good luck with Little Engines!!!!!!

Had the riding mower picked up but did not receive a call from them about why it was not working. It took 3 weeks and four phone calls (they do not return calls!) to finally get the "fixed" mower back and it was missing the glass lense. I told the delivery person about it and followed up with a phone call to them 2 days later. I was told they would find the missing part or purchase a new one and this would be at no charge. After another 3 weeks it went from being new and no charge, to "we don't remember the lense being on the machine so we will split the $80.00 charge and this is our final offer." We won't ever do business with them again!!! I have never written comments on line about bad service before as I usually just stop patronizing the establishments but this was so over- the-top bad that I wanted to let others know of my experience. I would highly recommend using some other business but if you decide to use this company for repairs I would highly recommend pictures be taken before you let them have your equipment.

The only person at the desk was kind of a know-it-all guy in his early 20's. Didn't really seem too interested in helping me and didn't really address or answer my questions. Sold me some parts that may or may not work for my application at almost twice what they cost on the internet or just a little bit more than Menards. I went there because I thought they would have better items than the big box stores, and I needed the parts immediately.I may go there again, but only if I'm desperate :p

Went to little edginess for a new trimmer and the young man I think his name is Brian helped me find the perfect one I went there a few weeks later to buy a mower and Brian was not there but a very sweet young lady named Megan helped me and answered all my questions showed me how to run the mower and also had it delivered the same day....I loved both my experiences here and I will defiantly be going back all the reviews didn't stop me from going because some people I've found just lie and distort the truth...my best piece of advice is go to little engines and decide for your self you will not be sorry

I went here to find a weedeater. The staff I felt was really rude to me and didn't care about helping me I wish I would of looked at the BBB ratings for them before I went here because they are rated at an F I will never go here again.

WHY DOESN'T THE OWNER OF THIS "BUSINESS" READ THESE REVIEWS. i CAME HERE TO LOOK FOR A NEW LAWNMOWER BUT AFTER READING THESE REVIEWS I WILL GO ELSWHERE.

I went there to get service for a lawnmower and weedeater. The young lady at the counter was very helpful but once she sent me downstairs for help with something else things took a turn for the worst. The tech that I talked to looked and talked to me as though I was mentally challenged. I apologized for bothering him and left. As I left the young lady was concerned enough to ask me what had happened. I told her I was too stupid for her tech and not to worry about it. I wish I'd read the other reviews before I had went there. Long story short this place blows.

I will never go back this shop. I will drive 50 miles out of my way and go to another shop.I bought a machine from them. I had a issue with a repair they made to my machine and I went to talk to them about it and pickup my machine and the staff I feel was very rude to me and disrespectful. They made the repair without even giving me an estimate and expected me to pay. I had to take the machine to another shop. They have lost me as a customer.

They treat customers they dont know horribly. While i was there waiting 3 people came in and got to go behind the counter to be taken care of because they were friends with the owner. They over charge and have absolutley no customer service, by far the worst business iv ever had the dis-pleasure of going to. Be warned about Little Engines.

I called this shop to get a quote on getting the oil changed & blade sharpened on my lawn mower & was quoted 1 price. When I took the mower in to the shop, all they did was hand me a ticket to fill out. They didn't go over what I was expecting to have done, and they did alot more then needed to be done. They didn't even go over the price. Almost all repair shops at least call you if they find anything else wrong. They don't even have that courtesy. I even had to ask them 3 times how long it would take to get it back. When I was finally able to pickup my mower, it cost me 3 times what I was expecting to pay and I am on a very limited budget. Please don't patronize this business because they don't tell you the who story up front.

I believe that being a smartass is required of their counter personnel. He was rude to 2 customers on the phone while I stood there, and when I explained what parts I needed for my mower, he was just plain smartmouthed. And they charged me almost $7 for a part listed on the Briggs and Stratton website as $4. I could understand overcharging a little, but almost double the msrp? That's just a ripoff. With that kind of markup, I can mailorder all my parts directly from the manufacturer.

Never have had a problem there. Always willing to help us out and if they dont have a part we need they call it in to another store so i can pick it up. Always helpful and always there.

Very helpful and know the equipment they sell very well. They help you get the right tool for the job with so many too choose from. Brian and Megan are great to deal with and stand behind their products. Sometimes its very busy. So get to know them and set-up an account so you aren't standing in line like a "redneck". I like to take my kids because Mick has tons of candy there and they like to sit on the big mowers. I like to call ahead and let them know what I need and its waiting for us. Mick, Steven, Kenny...Just good people to deal with.

These guys are great. They are always willing to help, but they are busy to patience is necessary. They've fixed numerous problems with my riding, push and trimmers for reasonable fee.
06/04/2009
must have to be a redneck to get help there... cant walk around in the store, no one wants to help. and they are rude people....
