Union Pacific Corporation is one of America's leading transportation companies. Its principal operating company, Union Pacific Railroad, is a subsidiary of Union Pacific Corporation and the largest railroad in North America. It operates in the western two-thirds of the United States. The railroad serves 23 states, linking every major West Coast and Gulf Coast port and providing service to the east through its major gateways in Chicago, St. Louis, Memphis, Tenn., and New Orleans. Young has been chief executive officer of Union Pacific for a year. He has been with the railroad and transportation company for over 28 years. Young attended the University of Nebraska-Omaha. The Omaha, Neb.-based company posted more than $1 billion in revenue for 2005.
