This company is a total rip off you get charges on your bill that happened 3 months ago but I've done a lot of research and going to replace Otelco sucks I guess by living in a rural area they know how to suck money out of people I think I need to call the BBB cause it's some shady stuff going on. Once again Otelco ain't worth getting didn't have a choice on stars didn't won't to rate them 1 star they ain't worth nothing.

I had Otelco for years, then moved and got Comcast. Boy what a big joyful difference. I just recently moved thought I was keeping Comcast but NO I'm back with Otelco and I hate it. Stone Age service (unless you like dial up) outrageous price for what you get. I didn't pay this much with Comcast and had both tv and internet. I so wish Comcast would put lines up here for I would switch in a heartbeat.

Absolute WORST internet/cable provider I have ever encountered. You pay outrageous prices for speeds that you don't receive (ie: $92 a month for 8mbps and actually get about 3mbps). Somehow they are the only provider in Oneonta but as soon as another company comes in, I speak for myself and many others in saying I will be changing providers. Everyone I've ever talked to hates their service! DO NOT RECOMMEND!!

If it's telephone, you are long distance to almost everybody. If it's internet, much of the time you don't get the speed you pay for. If it's television, their IPTV works most of the time but all in all it is ALL OVERPRICED for what you get. I had to give them one star just to post this.

I hear all the horror stories about Charter and Comcast and laugh. I would double my bill to be able to have either of those companies. This is the worst company - not cable provider - company I have ever dealt with.

Terrible slow internet for 100+ a month.. If any other isp's would come in to Oneonta otelco would shut down.. I would gladly pay double the amount of a normal charter internet bill just to have them as an isp in Oneonta al

I don't want to even give this company 1 star. The workers are rude, they are more expensive than anyone else and lose channels every month without apologies or change in billing amount. In two months we lost over 10 channels (of only about 75 that we get) but they would not lower our bill. So, $140 a month for (basically) nothing!

I have been trying to settle several bills with them concerning American Express and they have charged $30 extra a bill because they did not process the American Express bill correctly. They are also threatening to cut off service if we do not pay cash for these phone bills. They refuse to work with American even though American Express wants to work with them. This is unacceptable to me.

As a business owner , Otelco, is without doubt the worst provider of telephone & internet services of any provider I know. Not only can they not provided dependable Internet services to business, they block your use of magic jack and similar other phone services. In the past four months we have lost over twelve full days due to no phone lines, with each day Otelco' s workmen faithfully say, it's due to software upgrades. They are overpriced charging $ 106.00 per month for 3/1 upload / download speed. Twenty miles away. , folks pay $30 per month for better, service.

Otelco is the absolute worst cable and Internet company I have ever used. It's ridiculous it's the only cable company in blount county. It's over-priced & the Internet is slow, sometimes doesn't work at all, and the cable is not that great. And the website looks like an elementary student created it.

i pay about $90 for one line, local area long distance, modem rental and middle isp dsl service- supposed to be 3Mbps -but test shows i get 0.8 Mbps. South Korea averages 37 Mbps; Moldava over 23 Mbps, most of civilized world is over 10 Mbps--what is Arab a third world nation? i pay extra for out of area LD and wireless cel phone. you can get a good idea of the mess and lousy service with otelco by looking at their web site listing on-line .....my child could do better. but previous reviewer is right, otelco has been the only game in town-until recently, now things are changing, a large telephone co. and cable are now offering some service , just hope its better. hope springs eternal, after otelco the only way is better. can i give negative stars?rocketman

Otelco cable has had a monopoly on the cable market in Blount County, Al. forever !!!! The service is WAY over-priced and the Quality of service is seriously lacking !!! If there was any other company in town, we would already be with them. If there is a problem, it will take at the least 2 days to repair and they will not pro-rate your bill. They know that they are the only game in town and take full advantage of the fact !!!!
