The Collegedale Police Department is a law enforcement agency that preserves peace, deters crime, and maintains law and order. It has a records division that maintains reports of incidents, accidents and arrests that are reported to the police department, as well as processes and files reports and responds to public requests for records. The department operates a special services division that is comprised of traffic safety and K-9 divisions. The Collegedale Police Department also files accident reports and assists in the cases of drug-related crimes. In addition, it supports the Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.) program, which focuses on the prevention of illegal usage of drugs, gang activities and violent behavior.
