I've been going to Michael's for at least 35 years. As I recall, the original owners either left it to their children, or their grandchildren. But all during that time, I constantly saw a mix of family members working in the store. With 50 years of knowledge, this is the place to go if you want to make fine jewelry that will last longer than your great, great grandchildren.

I have been doing business with Michael's for several years and have NEVER found the owner and proprietor to be anything but helpful, knowlegeable, and friendly. I visit his shop and give him my business because he is local. He will encourage his customers to buy somewhere else if he can not compete with current market prices. I appreciate this honesty and his friendliness and will continue to frequent his shop. Perhaps the person with the complaint could actually visit him with the work to be done and he/she could get the local, personal attention I have come to appreciate. I have been to other lapidary stores and this one is my favorite by far.

I called this company to get a quote on some Lapidary work for my jewelry line. I talked to a man who got clearly annoyed once I told him I had stones cut in China. He told me to keep my business there, as he will not beat any prices. I told him I am willing to pay as I would like something closer to me. I then proceeded to tell him about some cuts I would like as he rudely made comments and listened. I wanted a circle in one cut and he began telling me circle are hard to cut and a few other things, and I just cut him off by saying, I am sorry i was just trying to give you business, then he began yelling and I hung up. Wow, this is really sad, who ever this man was you just lost thousand to china. If your angry that they are getting business, then please give your business not you attitude. If you own this company, shame, if you are employed by this company they should let you go on such a loss. Super page these guys are not super.
