today I went to the Orange Park Mall & I saw that a new store opened called “BFF Puppies,” and initially I knew this store was a product of the horrible puppy mills that exist. I went in to look around and the puppies were kept in very tiny glass cages to be looked at. I saw three large golden retriever puppies kept in a single glass cage together & there was no room for them to play, let alone move around. The place smelled horrible & wasn’t well kept. Each puppy cage had a “monthly payment” for how much each puppy was, like they were a material item someone was financing. The worker kept saying “we only receive the cutest puppies here!” I also read reviews on google about this place & one woman saw an obviously malnourished puppy in this place & a puppy with her ears messed up (it seems as if they’re stitched back). Overall it was just not a good place & shouldn’t be in business at all. Puppies shouldn’t even be kept at a shopping mall in the first place. I personally believe adopting a dog is the best way to go, but please if you are going to purchase a purebred make sure you get it from a good breeder you’ve done research on & not purchase a puppy from a place like this because I promise you these are from puppy mills.
