Provided by YP.comI am a Grymes alumna and now my daughter is a student there. There are so many things we love about Grymes. We love the small class size and the fact that there is only one class per grade. We know the other families and faculty and staff so well that they feel like extended family. The curriculum is challenging, but the teachers are always available and willing to help students who need extra support. Every student is an individual at Grymes and their individual needs and interests are valued. Grymes believes in developing a well-rounded global learner. This is evident through the different opportunities students are given to expand their horizins in Art, Music, and athletic opportunites. The teachers at Grymes strive to teach the students to become responsible citizens by involving them in community service activities. Grymes is a school that has matured over six decades because people send their children and their grandchildren there because of their dedication to providing their children and grandchildren with a spectacular education.

Grymes Memorial School - the way all schools should be!The small nurturing environment with high academic expectations is well suited for each student, no matter what age or skill level. The emphasis placed on fine arts at the introductory level, jr.k through 8th grade, is hard to find or duplicate in any school setting, public or private. Middle schoolers take band in music class, Spanish as a foreign language, have been recognized numerous times at the annual Writer's Eye Competition at the UVA Bayly Art Museum for creative writing, have been invited to participate in the Folger Shakespeare Festival in Washington, DC each year since 1999, may choose to play on soccer, field hockey, basketball or lacrosse teams, and are accepted in competitive secondary school and public gifted school programs(Governor's School) for high school. Bus transportation from central locations in Orange, Madison, Culpeper, Spotsylvania, Louisa, and Greene Counties is provided at no additional charge.
