I brought an external hard drive to Ed that was no longer powering up. Another repairman was going to charge me $150 just to look at it. Bits and Bytes was the second place I called.



The problem was the shell or casing for the unit, specifically the power adapter connection. Ed checked the data in the hard drive, it was all there, so he ordered a new shell for around $40. With a half hour labor and tax it came to around $80. I have around 20 original musical compositions on the hard drive, so it was well worth the money. Turnaround time was around 2 1/2 weeks, which was a little past when he said he'd get to it, but it was still no problem. A month overdue I'd complain about.



I think there is one other review of Bits and Bytes on the web which was pretty bad (the poster claimed Ed had lost her unit). I can't vouch for that and of course, my review as well is only hearsay, but I can only say that $80 was alot better than the first offer I got.
