Provided by YP.comMy daughter rear ended another car. We called a repair shop down the street from Top Notch and they told us to bring the car in at 11:00 AM that day. (I was at work). My daughter took the car in and was told she couldn't be seen until Monday. She googled repair shops near by and Top Notch popped up. Best google Search EVER! They took the car with no problem. They kept us up to date with how the repairs were going. Every time I called whoever answered the phone was kind and very professional. The repairs took a bit longer than our insurance thought they should and Dave picked up the cost of our rental. My car is better than it was when we took it in. Great job, Top Notch! I thank you for all you've done and am forever grateful!

Provided by YP.comI've taken my car to Dave's a few times for various things when I lived in Orem and always had honest service. This last time, I drove down from Salt Lake (I've recently moved) for something else and needed to take my car in because it started overheating.
They were slammed from the recent holiday but still made my car a priority since I had to drive back to Salt Lake. They were upfront and honest about what the diagnosis was and what the repair results would be.
I was texting people I know about the issue while I waited and asked some follow up questions to make sure they weren't missing something. I asked and Dave even took me back into the shop to check on what the mechanic was doing, look at the clogged radiator, and make sure all of the information was clear.
The whole time I was there, people kept coming in, making it busier, and they were still attentive to everyone, even sometimes fixing little things in the parking lot since the bays were full. I've always felt like they give honest service and pricing and always seem appreciative for business, even though they're often busy.
Thanks for the great service, guys!

Provided by YP.comI have taken my cars here for things ranging from a track bar on a Jeep Cherokee, brakes on a Honda Civic, and just recently a starter on another Jeep Cherokee. I typically knew what needed to be done every time I took my cars in and sure enough that was what needed fixing. They are honest and have a fair price for the good work they do. In my case all repairs were same day repairs. Dave is a good guy and I will continue taking my cars there if I can't do the repairs myself.

Provided by YP.comI took in my brother's car in the morning around 10:15 am on a Friday to get a window fixed that wasn't going up. I called back around 5:30 that day because I hadn't heard from them on their progress. They mechanic who answered said they didn't know the car was even there until just recently and that they wouldn't know what was wrong until Monday. It was extremely frustrating because the guy who answered the phone didn't seem to even care that I was frustrated as a result. He said the morning shift guy must have gotten off his shift and not even told anyone that the car was there. Now my brother, who has to work over the weekend cannot even get around because Dave's Canyon Auto didn't communicate. Extremely frustrating.

Provided by YPmobileI went here because it was close to my home. The first time I took my car in because it was vibrating a lot. They replaced an engine mount very quickly which was great! It still vibrated though. I took it back one morning. A couple hours after I dropped it off, I noticed that the window on my car was rolled down. I ended up calling them to tell them to roll up the window. 3 hours later it was still down. So I took the liberty of rolling the window up on my way to work and they had LEFT THE KEYS IN THE IGNITION! They weren't getting to the car till two days later on a Monday. So I knew they just left it that way all day. Needless to say, I took the car back and will not give them my business again. They were pretty rude all around and were terrible at explaining what they were doing to my car. I do not recommend this mechanic.

Provided by YP.comI was skeptical at first to see all 5 stars from other reviews. But I guess they deserve it. I decided to give them a try. They repaired my brakes at a fair price, and I can tell that they did a good job. I would like to find a place where I know I can take my car and trust I can be taken care of. I have not decided yet that this place, but I will be back to see.

Provided by YP.comI live close by 800 North, so I've been taking my cars to Dave's Canyon Auto since he opened 20 years ago...and there's a reason for that. I know that Dave gives me a fair price. Actually, it's usually the best price in town. I'll often compare, and each time I do, their prices match the cheapest in town or are usually a better price. And it happens without me asking. Good pricing seems to be standard procedure. And they don't fix things that don't need to be done. The quality of work has always been good. I'd recommend them to anyone.

Provided by YP.comThis place is amazing. My car dash lights and taillights were not working. I took it to the dealer near where I work in Provo, and was told it would cost me about $600 to have the "cluster" replaced; he even said that a simple fuse or light bulb wasn't going to fix this. I took it to Dave's. He replaced a fuse and the lights started working. But then they stopped. He tracked down the short the next day and fixed a broken wire. And the cost was less than $100. I highly recommend this business!

Provided by YP.commy wife had her 2003 pontiac vibe repaired at this shop. there was something wrong with a suspension or alignment arm (sorry, i'm not a mechanic, so i forgot what the issue was). anyway, dave did a fantastic job at a really great price.
recently i just brought my 1990 4-runner into dave's shop. he offered me a good price and he has already high quality work in the past. i'm anticipating a similar experience.
today i was at his shop and talked to a lady that's been going there 21 years (because he does do great work). my wife and i have been going there for 2-3 years now. i highly recommend this shop, & you should ignore the negative review on here (in fact, i'm responding because of the negative review--this is a really good shop, and i thought the review sounded unfair!)

Provided by YP.comThis is the first time I went there. Frankly, I was kind of pessimistic about any mechanic garage before I went to Dave's. The service I received there totally changed my mind and as I said -- "life could be much easier with Dave's"! I was served the moment I went there and It took just about 1 minute for the mechanic there (sorry, I forgot to ask his name) to check the code for "check engine light". Then I described my situation and he just tried to verify the O2 sensors was replaced and I told him that I changed the MAF sensor by myself. Then he helped to check that too. It turned out the connection is kind of loose (maybe I should have pushed it more harder to make it totally clicked in). Then he cleared my warning code and asked me to drive around and see what happens. Overall, it took me just 5 minutes at most to leave Dave's Canyon Auto happily with nothing out of my pocket. I can't say for sure that's the problem. But, at least, I see an honest mechanic and very friendly service, which is rare in today's market.
Before I went to Dave's, I called several other garages and even have my car diagnosed at one of them. It generally took me half an hour to one hour waiting and the price they offered is sometimes ridiculous (One garage asked $320.00 for a change of MAF sensor alone. I can order a brand new MAF sensor from Dealer for $190 and install it within 5 minutes by myself. I guess they would just order some remanufactured one from Autozone or Checker for about $100 and get away with $200 easy dollars from customers like me). All in all, Dave's Canyon Auto definitely win my business and I will take my car over there for any problems I encounter in the future.

Provided by YP.comAs a twenty-something single girl who knows just enough about cars to fill them with gas, I have had bad experiences with mechanics a lot. They try to sell you services or parts you don't need, they talk to you like you're stupid, they try to rip you off. I'm glad I found Dave's and I will continue coming here as long as I live anywhere in the area! On two occasions, services were recommended that I hadn't initially asked for, and both times I had freinds who knew a lot about cars come down and check out my car to make sure (I've learned that it's always a warning flag when a mechanic tells me I need something I didn't ask for). On both occasions, not only did Dave & crew let them check out what they were talking about, they offered to let me take it somewhere else for a second opinion. The 2nd time they found a potentially very dangerous problem with the fuel system that I hadn't noticed at all! Thanks for the honesty and fair deals guys, you have another customer for life!
