The atmosphere is nice but the food is not as good as I hoped it would be

My wife and I went to the Marcus Cinema in Orland to catch the special engagement of the Who at Kilburn circa 1977 on the big screen a couple of weeks back. We decided to catch a quick dinner and quaff a couple of beers before the show and decided to make Champps our destination spot for dinner.



From the instant I walked in, I fell in love with the place. This place is sports bar heaven! The walls were lined with big screen hi-def TV's and sports memorabilia lined the walls.



They have a huge selection of beers on draft or in the bottle. We started the evening with a couple of beers and an appetizer (cajun eggrolls IIRC) which were delicious and spiced just enough to make the beer taste even better and relieve the 2 alarm fire in my mouth.



The main couse, my wife had Balsamic Chicken and vegetables, and I had a Pasta-Chicken Vesuvio dish that was out of this world. The serving portions were generous and the quality of the food was 4 star. A big league meal if I ever had one.



For dessert we split a dish that was some sort of decadent concoction of a cake/ice cream creation that was drizzled with a vanilla icing and chocolate syrup that was as tasty to the pallate as it was appealing to the eye.



Lastly I must give kudos to the wait staff. We had a very friendly waiter who knew the menu very well and the service was splendid from start to finish.



This place is a must visit destination spot if you're in Orland. Check it out, you won't be disappointed.
