My son cut his finger on Christmas Day. Butterfly bandages and gauze were applied, and we were hopeful that the next morning we could avoid stitches. But the next morning it was not any better, so my husband took him to Palos Primary Care. They said there was a 2 hour wait, the doctor was rushed and seemed indifferent. He told them he could not stitch it since it had been longer than 12 hours, applied a bandaid, and told them to call a plastic surgeon. The paperwork they were sent home with said "steri strips have been applied instead of stitches". No steri strips, just a bandaid. After waiting 5 days to see the plastic surgeon, he told us that the finger should have been stitched the day we went to Palos Primary Care and that the 12-hour "rule" was a myth. Basically the doctor did not want to do his job. That is the last time we will be using Palos Primary Care.
