I went through Moving Service Solutions and ended up with a company named Do my 2 do list. I would run of either of companies if you come across them.

I started dealing with this company because their initial hourly rate quote was lower than others I received. In retrospect this was obviously a bait and switch technique. The initial quote was $55 an hour but the actual cost was $85 an hour. In their defense the new rate was disclosed prior to the beginning of the job and considering the new amount was comparable to slightly higher than other quotes I had received I moved forward.

The first day of the move they were already 5 hours late when I told them not to come and we could reschedule for first thing the next day. Day two of the move they were 3 hours late. Based on previous experience I wasn’t even shocked a little when they were 2 hours late. There is a lot more detail I could go into about the calls that weren’t answered and the promises made that were broken but if your can’t see from the above the total lack of professionalism the minutia won’t help much.

The 3rd day of the move they were to bring 4 men to carry a large piece of furniture up the stairs to the master bedroom. This was the 4th time since I purchased this piece that it was moved and each time it proved to be more and more difficult. The last house we lived in that piece never made it up the stairs because it was too big to maneuver the stairway and too heavy to just muscle it up the stairs. As with the entire move what I was told and what actually happened were two different things. Only 3 men were at home to move this piece. They were still confident they would be able to navigate the stairs and they had sufficient muscle for the job. The Armoire did make it up the stairs to the master bedroom. My staircase was destroyed and there was some damage to the Armoire. For the most part the furniture could be fixed and some of the damage would be against the wall and not be seen.

The next piece of furniture was my office desk. My desk also sustained damage to the middle drawer where the frame twisted and drawer wouldn’t close.

After all the furniture and boxes were in the house they spent the next 30 minutes taking pictures of all the damage to the furniture and walls. The Supervisor of the team told me that they would get someone out to my location at my within the next two to three days. Surprise!! That was 3 weeks ago. Since that time I have emailed the company and called the Supervisor but have yet to get a response from anyone.

Of the 10 major moves I have been through some of which were cross county moves. This was by far the absolute worst move I have ever been a part of. I sincerely hope that you never encounter this company when it’s time for you to move.
