Yolanda R. Freeman, ATC, PA-C, MPAS, is a cum laude graduate of the University of Florida, in Gainesville, FL, with a bachelor’s degree in exercise and sports science with a specialization in athletic training. She remained at the University of Florida to continue her education where she earned a master’s degree in physician assistant studies. Ms. Freeman worked for nine years as a senior orthopaedic physician assistant (PA-C) at Orlando Health Orthopedic Institute. In this role she treated patients in addition to managing and coordinating schedules for a total of five physician assistants working in practice. She is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants and licensed in the state of Florida to provide healthcare with the oversight of a licensed physician. She is also certified by the Board of Certification as a certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) and a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA) and the Florida Academy of Physician Assistants (FAPA). Ms. Freeman has an extensive range of sports medicine experience in various capacities including stints with the University of Florida, Disney’s Wide World of Sports, the Orlando Magic and the WNBA’s Orlando Miracle. Her primary responsibility at Orlando Orthopaedic Center is to assist Michael D. McCleary, M.D. in his primary care sports medicine and non-surgical orthopaedics practice.
