Orlando Orthopaedic Center was formed in 1972 by two local orthopaedic surgeons, J. Darrell Shea, M.D. and Robert C. Mumby, M.D. Over the years, Orlando Orthopaedic Center has grown to five locations and offers a full range of orthopaedic services, from minimally invasive surgery and physical therapy to prescription service and MRI technology, all under one roof.The group was formed on the principles that comprehensive care of orthopaedic problems and other musculoskeletal disease can be delivered in a high quality, cost effective way while meeting the patient's needs. These goals are accomplished through an integrated staff with the professional skills necessary to provide the highest quality care to all of our patients.Orlando Orthopaedic Center's Friendly StaffOrlando Orthopaedic Center includes 17 board certified physicians, including two highly trained, board certified podiatrists. Several physicians within the group are leaders in breakthrough medicine acting as the only physicians in town providing new, technologically advanced surgical procedures.Orlando Orthopaedic Center has five Central Florida locations. Locations are Downtown Orlando, Winter Park, Lake Mary, Oviedo, and Sand Lake. Each of these locations include physical therapy and radiology. In addition, the Winter Park office is the home of MRI systems.Orlando Orthopaedic Center differs in many ways from other local orthopaedic practices. The center strives to give better care with more options available to the patient. Surgery is not always the only option. Patient care and customer service are a top priority.
