not happy

I went for my dog’s annual visit at Lake Emma Animal Hospital and wanted her nails groomed. I was told the nails were included in the $143.00 visit. When I received my dog, her nails were chopped off by clippers not ground down ( I prefer this method) so I asked why they were not ground and I was told that was an extra $22! So I say fine just do it, I get my dog back again and it looks as if NOTHING had been done. Long story short I expressed my irritation to the Dr. and the manager and told them I should not have to pay $22 for something that was hardly done. I was told that at this point the would have to sedate my dog to do it! Um no! so again I say I am not happy and do not think I should be charged the extra $22. They told me sorry we did it so you have to pay (bad customer services) needless to say I will not be going back there again.

Do not board your animals here

After a few boarding experiences with LEAH this time was finally the last time. Every time I pick up my pet, I never know what to expect. The surprises I've received from my pet have been fleas, aggression, stress, depression, lesions, and an awful cough. Not to mention when I called to check up on my pet they said they were happy, playful, and eating great. But at pick up I learned that my pet wasn't eating and was pretty upset. I'm going to my regular vet to fix the mess LEAH created. If you love your pets, don't turn to Lake Emma Animal Hospital.

EXCELLENT CARE FOR MY DOGS

I recently moved to Florida from Nebraska. I didn't know where to take my dogs for any health issues. I tried another nearby veterinarian, but I could tell that wasn't the best place for me to take them. The entire staff here is very friendly and helpful. One of my 2 dogs has had a health problem for quite a while. She is 16 years old. and her health problem has been made much, much better. The following week after my first visit there, my 7 year old Siberian Husky had a health issue that could have hospitalized her and/or killed her without fast, appropriate treatment. It came on so fast.... I couldn't believe she could get that sick that fast. They had a full schedule but squeezed her in. They saw her almost right away when they figured out how bad she was, and they took the time to reassure me and to make sure they figured out exactly what to do to make her better. She got to go home that day after receiving subcutaneous fluids and medications, and I was sent home with 3 medications for her. Their prices have been very reasonable. I am so grateful that I found this place. I still have my wonderful dogs, and now they are back in great health.

Profit over dog health or customer care

I have received good care from the vets at Lake Emma for over two years, but after a recent visit and much money spent, I encountered very rude customer service from the office staff. It was obvious from the interaction that profit at their facility is more important than my dogs' health. Consequently, I will be taking my business elsewhere.

Not this vet

This vet is overly profit-driven and the office staff is a mess. The actual doctors are competent enough, but too many administrative errors and policy hassles make this vet a "no go".

Dr Dee Investigation

Dr. John Dee, Lake Emma Animal Hospital is currently under investigation as a result of a complaint I filed with the Board of Veterinary Medicine in Tallahassee regarding the death of my cat Bandit. The Case Number is 2011027249. Bandit hadn’t been eating well the last few days. Dr. Dee did sometests on her and called me the next day and told me she had kidney disease. He told me that I needed to bring her in for IV fluid treatment that would last for 3 days to get her stabilized. This treatment is safe and without risks unless the cat has heart problems like Bandit did. She had a heart murmur. They noticed she was having trouble breathing at 5:30PM and she was dead at 6:45PM. If a cat can be dead from this treatment in 1 hour and 15 minutes how can it be safe to administer IV fluids overnight when no one is there?I know that Bandit was 17 years old, but the result of Dr. Dee's treatment is she had a shorter life not a longer one.

Worst Boarding Ever

I recently picked my dog up from boarding with LEAH. While waiting for her to be brought up to the front, I notice her weight on check out. She had lost 10 lbs while being boarded for 5 days. I asked the vet tech how could this be and she read off a kennel card that said "did not eat", "did not eat", 10 times. When they finally brought her up she was noticably thinner and we reconfirmed her weight while I was there. Just over 10lbs she lost while there. What is even more insulting then the complete lack of care, was while we were away we called to check in on her. EVERY time we got " She's doing great, eating, walking on a leash well with the techs ". I called to speak to one of the actual vets, and he blamed the weight loss on a misread scale. So the techs are not competent enough to weigh a dog? How about each of the times she was weighed, while she was there, there was a 2 lb loss at each weigh-in? They actually recorded the weight loss in the computer and it printed with my receipt
