Perla LaGuardia, MSN, CNM, APRN, is a certified nurse midwife with more than 20 years of experience in obstetric, couplet care, critical care, and surgical nursing as well as nursing education. She delivers patient-centered, evidence-based, culturally sensitive care to every patient and she is an excellent communicator with fluency in English and Spanish. Perla has worked in critical care, labor and delivery, post-anesthesia care (PACU) and mother-baby units in Central Florida hospitals since early in her career. She provides triage, intrapartum and postpartum care, low-risk and high-risk prenatal care, general gynecologic care and preconception counseling. Perla earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Adventist University. She holds a master’s degree in nursing education from the University of Central Florida and another master’s degree in nurse midwifery from the University of Cincinnati.
