Provided by YP.comBest veterinarian in Volusia County. Doctor Salzburg is extremely knowledgeable, firendly, and genuinely cares about my animals. You can see it in his face and actions that he loves animals. That is the kind of person I want taking care of my fur babies. I have a problem animal and Dr. Salzburg has saved his life twice in Ten years and he is still here today because of that. The staff and Dr have gone above and beyond for me in the 15 yrs I have been taking my animals to them. They just moved to a brand new bld and it is very clean and organized inside.

Provided by YP.comHave been taking my nervous cat there for 5 years for various procedures and routine checkups. My cat raises hell at all vets, and Dr. Salzburg and staff have managed him with ease. I honestly admire and respect his work and assurances. He is an excellent surgeon as well, and the one time my cat had surgery there he came through and recovered with complete ease. Love him!

Provided by YP.comI have been taking my 3 cats to Mark for years for minor ailments like fleas, allergies & ID chips
This week...
Monday
My tabby, OC, developed swelling on his left cheek
Most likely from a fight
Though my neighbor saw him investigating a black snake
Tuesday
The swelling had grown quickly
Wednesday
OC was in pain and had labored breathing
I called Salzberg Animal Clinic & made an appointment for 9:15am, Thursday
Thursday (7-27-17 @ 9:15am)
I took OC to Mark Salzburg
Mark said he could treat OC with antibiotics
Also that I should have OC neutered to prevent more fighting
Mark assured me that this would be routine and
I would pick up OC by the end of the day
About noon
I got a call from Mark
His team had done a feline aids test
OC was positive
Mark said my options were
- Treating OC
- Killing OC
- or Giving OC to a home for cats with feline aids
I asked what treating him would cost me
Mark didn't know and said he would have his office staff call me,
immediately
Twenty minutes later,
I called and a staffer said $320 to $355.
I said, "for 350 bucks... help my friend"
About an hour later,
Mark called and stated that,
"OC had died under anesthesia"
Mark gave me several excuses why...
1. Compromised immune system from Feline aids
2. More advanced abcess that he thought
3. Swelling effected OC's breathing more than he thought
What happened was,
We crossed over the limit of Mark's Education, Knowledge & Experience
My friend paid for that limit with his life
It is my fault
I trusted Mark's recommendation
I should have known not to put an animal with an advanced infection & labored breathing under anesthesia
I will live with that decision for the rest of my life
I miss my friend
Please God... take care of my OC

Provided by YPmobileDr. Salzburg and staff are simply wonderful--a relief to deal with when things are difficult, fun and pleasant for regular visits. Dr. Salzburg is highly knowledgable and well trained (UFVet). He is also committed to caring for more than our standard pets--volunteering at the Marine Science Center in Ponce Inlet. The main office area does mix dogs and cats (dogs to the left, cats tithe right) but my cats have never been overly stressed since the area doesn't ever have dog smell. The staff are efficient at both check out and check in, pleasant and knowledgable. I have been taking my beloved pets there for almost 20 years. I highly recommend this vet clinic.
